Beautiful, but showing some age

Sep 22nd, 2020

If you want a hotel that screams California Dreams, this is it. It is incredibly beautiful. 3 pools. The lower pool has a slide and water park area for children. The pool makes you feel like you are in Hawaii. I love this hotel, but am concerned that it is not being maintained at the highest level. We had several problems. The fire alarm sounded for several minutes at night and then went off. No notification of an "all clear." It simply went turned off. Top bed linen was threadbare (hole), mirror was desilvering, debris (likely coffee grounds) on bathroom counter and in sink. Not Covid-clean. No masks at pool area. I have stayed at this hotel for over 20 years. These may be minor problems but they certainly need management's attention. Parking fee is outrageous, $30/night or $38/might for valet. Resort fee is an additional $30. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointing

Sep 21st, 2020

We checked this hotel out a month ago as we wanted to spend a weekend there. The approach looked very appealing, the rooms at the front of the hotel the same, so we decided to stay. We checked in then went to the Lido rooms, it was like going back into the fifties and staying at a motel 6........drab, dreary looking area, nothing like the front......majorly disappointing. All this for $300 a night! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hyatt 3-day getaway

Sep 10th, 2020

A last minute 3 day getaway to escape the heat, we were recommended to try Hyatt Newport Beach - enjoyed the adult only pool and our waiter Luke was very accommodating, polite & personable. There were a few children which kinda put a damper, but not too bad. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't make people who are having a quiet conversation move to another area for no reason- that makes no sense.

Sep 9th, 2020

I mentioned it earlier, 10 of my friends and I were ask to leave the very large area behind the main pool because the pool was closed. That's a rediculous rule and should not have been enforced on guest who were gathered to have a quiet conversation and enjoy each other's company. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
