Our stay was great, the staff were all courteous and met all of our requests. Very beautiful grounds and atmosphere. Great service all around and marina proximity was essential for our stay. Definitely would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

A very unpleasant experience

Do not choose this hotel under any circumstances. Save yourself a whole heap of disappointment and money and go somewhere else. If you're thinking of impressing the girlfriend - don't take her here! It's the pits! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very disappointing experience- stay somewhere else

May 21st, 2019

Pier Six-Six Hotel and Marina was beyond disappointing and I recommend to everyone reading this review to choose somewhere else where your experience for the money spent is appreciated and valued. I grew up in Fort Lauderdale and this hotel 25 years ago was one of the best. Now, it is a former shadow of itself: repairs are still going on from the past hurricane damage and general wear and tear. The place is in general disrepair and is shabby. The service is below par and at night there appeared to be additional “guests” that were wandering around the premises. At night, I could hear people both outside my room arguing/yelling and outside on the grounds I heard people at the pool/common areas at very late hours- all of this made me feel apprehensive and uncomfortable. It seemed that security was absent. I just made sure my door was chained and the sliding glass door was fully locked. Given the disengaged attitude when I checked in, I did not bother going to the lobby to complain at the late hour. Further, my rental car was damaged while I had it parked there and when brought it to the attention of the staff they told me that it would be taken care of. I then followed up after the rental car company sent me a $250 bill and I did not get any of my emails and calls returned and had to resort to sending a certified letter to the manager of the property. Without being apologetic, he sent me an email with a different explanation from his employee on the day of the incident. He sent a “courtesy” check for $100 which given that I was part of a conference that yielded his property thousands of dollars for a 3 day conference with 3 meals a day was insulting. It clearly showed his lack of appreciation for his guests and the “big picture.” Bottom line: stay at a chain hotel where there is at least a company that has a reputation that management actually cares about and in the Fort Lauderdale area there is probably every brand available. Needs major update

May 17th, 2019

I was here for a business conference. Some of the complaints from attendees were ants in 1 bathroom and the rooms smelled very moldy. I’m no expert, but that didn’t sound healthy to me. Others stayed at the Hilton across the canal and had no complaints there. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
