Great Hotel with friendly and efficient service in the heart of the city

I am just back from our stay at the Hyatt Regency in Port of Spain. We booked the "gulf view" room with it's expansive view of the water and the Port too. It was fun to watch the Port ship activity. We experienced great customer service where upon arrival we received a glass of wine after we checked-in. The hotel staff was both friendly and efficient; and kudos to Terrance and Christopher who went above their job duties to tell us about the hotel amenities and the city sights. By the way, we were interested in hearing "steel pan" music and we found out that it is difficult to find this music being played in Port of Spain unless it's Carnival Time. Guess what: this hotel has "steel pan" music year round and the musician there is great!! He took the time to show us how to play the instrument. What an experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

The Very Best Hotel In Trinidad

I highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Trinidad hotel to you. I have stayed at numerous hotels in the nation but this one is the best. The rooms are spacious, excellent lighting with great views of the Caribbean or city. The room service was on time and quality of food excellent. I do think the price of the food is a little high. The Hyatt team are cordial, kind and want to assist you in the little and big things. Depending on traffic, it is located between 30 to 45 minutes from the airport. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

2nd time around

I last visited the Hyatt Regency port of Spain Trinidad for a medical conference in 2012, the staff then was warm and friendly! Fast forward to 2019, different staff but still the same warm and accommodating reception. I requested early check in on the webpage and this was met. My membership status was acknowledged. Got a late check out also and the conference and dining facilities were great including the WIFI. The room was clean and kept well stocked with toiletries. I also asked for a quiet room and got it! All my request were met with a smile. I'll be back for sure!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

A convention with Caribbean flavor

During the congress I attended, the friendliness and courtesy of the hotel staff helped the long hours of the meeting go by in a pleasant way. Food in the different restaurants was tasty and with an accent on the local flavors. The sushi bar was one of the best I visited. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER 

Recent stay.

Property is just average and well the features and cost as compared to similar category of hotels. Maintenance of pool is very bad, people can be seen in pool with cotton / denim clothes without swimming caps. I was shocked to see floating hairs, rubber bands etc. On lodging complaint the hotel’s GM expressed his inability to do anything and hence, I decide not risk my health in dirty pool.
