Loved our visit -- Great stay

I had read a lot of reviews before booking this property and had mixed feelings about staying here. I can't understand the negative reviews. We thoroughly enjoyed our 1-bedroom unit on the 3rd floor of Building 4. We had a beautiful view of the pool and the harbor. Since we knew not to expect an on-site bar or restaurant, we weren't disappointed when we arrived. Staff was responsive and helpful. It is a smaller property, more like a boutique hotel, which was fine with us. It was nice not to be at a large resort. The pool was never crowded and it felt homey. Pros: Awesome location. We walked to Ernest Hemingway's House, Duval St., many tourist and shopping/restaurants locations. Pool was perfect temperature and designed to be entered from four separate areas, which made social distancing easier. The kitchen was well-stocked, the sitting area and dining areas were comfortable. Had everything we needed. A/C worked great (really cranked it out!), water pressure was excellent. Tall ceilings and a lovely balcony were a plus. Cons; Only a queen bed in the bedroom and a small bathroom in our unit. I think this varies by unit. My teenage daughter and I didn't mind the snug arrangement, but other people might. Laundry machines are free to use, but they're only located in one of the five buildings. The rooms could use a laundry basket TBH, I traded my timeshare points for a stay here and thought it was totally worth it. I don't know that I'd pay the astronomical room rates I've seen listed in other reviews. Key West is an expensive place to visit. I feel it's well worth a trip, but it can be a bit of a sticker shock when looking for accommodations. Parking rate is expensive, but you don't really need a car if you're staying here. We used Uber/Lyft or walked everywhere. We rented a Jeep Wrangler for one day to explore other areas of Key West and the other Keys. We highly recommend Key West Jeep Adventures for all-day rentals. You can drop the Jeep off at the end of the day and not pay a parking fee back at the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location but not clean

Location is awesome. Suites have 2 bedrooms and a kitchen- 2 nice balconies. Room smelled funky - ok - very humid - maybe that’s why? We stayed just as things opened up after COVID and there was no room service - and a lot about cleanliness - but the room was not well cleaned. Hunk on the waterline in toilet, wiped water I’d dripped off after shower onto bathroom floor and towel came up black 😳. Gave it a closer look and there was dust on the floorboards, doors and all surfaces. Told maid went home at 4 so I’d have to wait until next day. Woke up at 7:45 to a guy with a gardening blower mindlessly walking around blowing imaginary leaves around pool for 15 minutes. I called front desk and got no answer until the 3rd call after 8 (supposed to be available 4-11)- then they got him to stop. Furnishings are starting to look dated and are pretty beat up. Simply terrible for $ 629

this residence club is the laugh of the century : overpriced, overrated... the rooms are horrible - you can hear every word from your neighbor or when the turn on the shower - no amenities for a Hyatt Traveler (I am a Globalist) - never ever will I go there again - it is old, needs upgrades everywhere and simply is not worth the money... Granted the location is nice and it allows you to get to Duval street in no time - but that does not justify the price nor everything else they claim ... it is simply trying to sell you a time share.... This was my first time in Key West and I'm happy I stayed at the Sunset Harbor as it's close to everything we wanted to see. Mallory Square is just steps away and Duval Street is a 5 minute walk. There's lots of restaurant options close by. We went in February so the nights got a bit chilly... we definitely took advantage of the hot tub and heated pool! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
