My hubby’s birthday weekend

Jan 19th, 2021

Say what you will this place was great!! It was exactly what we needed without all the fuss. Great staff(thanks for all the recommendations🥳🥳) Even after a little mix up with our check in. I can’t say enough good things about this staff. Grabbed a couple things I had forgotten for my hair from the office store(even in the winter the humidity is real🤣). The room was comfortable and clean. No coffee pots in the room, but your on vacation on an island for heaven’s sake...go out and explore. There is free breakfast on the property. The only complaint I have if you can call it the is the small shower, but this would be it. The restaurant on property has good food too. They also have many other amenities on property(bikes, kayaks, a pool...) we just didn’t take advantage of these. We will be visiting again...as soon as possible. Thanks for the memories!! If Sponge Bob and Squidward Had a Hotel This Would Be It

Jan 11th, 2021

Ok people the good, bad and ugly from a real review! We stayed here two nights and seriously regret not investigating this property further. The photos are NOT current and very deceiving! Yes, though this does have a kitschy feel, it it really poorly renovated and the photos are about 15 plus years old. Plastic chairs in the room, no coffee pot in your room and the 25" TV across the room from the bed was a joke. The patio door does not have a lock just a metal bar. We got the handicapped room that has a wooden, we are not talking a varnished wood either but a sliver in your tush, dried out wood seat in the shower. The front door rubbed the wall to shut, the wall AC had filter needs to be changed light on and was LOUD, and the lighting was terrible, with the pulls not working on one lamp. Probably better to not see the room in full lighting anyway. The curtains do not fit the only window in the room, the patio doors so people can see in, we got to see out neighbors lounging on their beds at night so I assume they could see us as well. Yes there are hammocks, faded but comfortable, the view if you get the rooms along the back are of the water, but do NOT venture in! If your being cautious about the virus, find another place to stay! We watched staff NOT take temps when clocking in though they have a sign stating they must. Masks are not enforced, but all housekeeping was wearing them, just not the driver for the free transportation into town, nor was he enforcing anyone to put them on even though the whole town it is mandatory to wear a mask while in public. The good was the bed was comfortable and clean, the pillows were soft and comfortable but the room has a musty smell so we bought a candle. Sadly we wish we had stayed in one of the newer hotels, we love retro but this is NOT retro so much as run down and this is NOT resort quality in any form or fashion but your going to pay resort prices! I bet this was a grand place in 1956 but sadly it needs a total makeover! Overpriced and if you like coffee forget that unless your up after 8 am....never tried the dinner or free breakfast we were to scared and it was overpriced....do your due diligence! A True Piece of Old Key West!

Dec 8th, 2020

For years we were convninced that we had to stay on Duval, finding this resort we no monger feel that way. Ibis Bay reminds me of a beehive, the staff is out about the resort, continually caring for the property. And speaking of the staff , they are all so very friendly, even if they don't all speak english. We had a room facing the bay, the sunrise was absolutely stunning. The restaurant and bar are clean and the food is great. However the free breakfast could use a bit of tweaking. Very nice pool . We didn't get to utilize the kayaks or jet skis, but they are available. We stayed in late October, COVID was running full tilt, yet we didn't feel any concern while there as all staff were taking the necessary precautions. We now are plaaning another visit and will plan on requesting the same room we had this past visit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay away.

Dec 4th, 2020

In one word - horrible. The receptionist doesn't even speak English, we've tried asking her many questions about the hotel, she doesn't understand and then when she gives us she just says "yes" , very deceiving considering the fact I asked her if the pool is warmed and she said yes but when I tried getting it is the water was freezing to the level you can't get inside, the do charge 20$ a day for amenities you can't even use. Rooms are super basic and outdated . Our room faced the pool and at 7AM there were drilling outside, people shouting and it woke me up. Looks like a cheap motel and absolutely doesn't worth the price. Basic thing is to have your employees speak English if you are in America. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Affordable, convenient and scenic!

Nov 30th, 2020

We had a very nice time at Ibis resort. It was convenient with it's shuttle service to Old Town while having a very affordable price. For those who enjoy ocean/water views, this hotel offers that as well. The pool was awesome, great music always being played! The room that we chose was small in size but that was our choice. It was very clean and always looked after well with the attentive housekeeping staff. We also enjoyed talking with the 2 parrots, as well as watching the numerous turtles that are on premise. Kudos to shuttle driver Greg, we thoroughly enjoyed our conversations with him! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
