Our stay

Oct 22nd, 2020

In the age of Covid, we were looking for a clean room and a change of scenery in one of our favorite areas of California. We got both. The room was clean and comfortable. We would have preferred a more modern bathroom w/more conveniences, but overall it provided everything we needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Value Does not Mean Cleanliness Should be Comprimised

Oct 22nd, 2020

I selected to stay at Inn at Morro Bay because of the value and location. Unfortunately we were greeted with a face covering that was left on the chimney mantle. Not sure if a previous guest left it or if cleaning staff left it. Either way not what you want to see during a pandemic. Light fixtures and floor were not thoroughly cleaned. Staff was friendly enough. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sold a bill of goods

Oct 19th, 2020

We were to have a room with a view and a fireplace. First, the fireplace was controlled by a thermostat and with the room warm it wouldn't work. It came on intermittent like a furnace would . So much for ambiance! Second, the slider opened up onto an enormous common deck, actually the roof of the units below and you had to walk 60' to the rail to get a view. Third, the party on the floor above us that included at least three rooms went on forever. NO sleep NO view NO fireplace For $400? NO WAY AGAIN TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location...tired rooms

Oct 19th, 2020

The hotel is in an ideal location. Sadly, the rooms are tired and need serious updating. It is clean however and staff were helpful. Also the restaurant was not open and that was very disappointing. There is an outdoor area that has a fantastic view and would have been an ideal place to enjoy meals or a cocktail. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Everything is great - except for the room

Oct 17th, 2020

This is a beautiful place: on the grounds are huge trees, enhanced by beautiful landscaping. The buildings are attractive, and our room had a bay view. The balconies are positioned so as to afford privacy, and ours overlooked the bay. Sunrise and sunset can be gorgeous. However- we visited in October, during a heat wave. These are becoming more common and more extreme in California. This hotel was built before climate change and there is no air conditioning. The sun pours in all afternoon, so close your shutters or leave and don't come back until evening, when it cools down. (There was a fan in the room.) We found other things annoying: the sea air has been hard on the sliding glass door and screen, which don't slide easily. The bathroom sink is a pedestal, with no countertop to set down your things. We left with sore backs from the bed. The rug was stained, looked pretty gross. On the plus side, if you visit in winter I'm sure the fireplace is cozy and it's connected to a thermostat. They were re-modeling some of the rooms, so perhaps you'll get a new bed, rug, etc. when you visit. As for other guest services, we can't comment because there was a pandemic on and we kept to ourselves. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
