Awesome experience!

Our celebration with friends in San Diego was truly memorable! We arrived early and were allowed to leave our bags prior to checking in. We'd read the reviews for "Jimmy Carter's" - which served us a wonderful breakfast. We love the location, history and feel of the Inn. It's beautifully decorated and has an old world vibe. Staff were friendly, helpful and cheery - made us feel as if we were home! Thank you for an amazing time Inn at the Park. We can't wait to visit again! Michigan Family TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

great location

Booked one week through our timeshare. S tayed at the Inn at the Park. Our one bedroom was nice decorated. It had a balcony. The unit is nicely retro decorated. It was clean. There is no on site pool. The 2 white fluffy robes sure came in handy in the early morning hours and in the evening, sitting on the balcony. Valet parking is available for $20.00 a day, unless you want to walk a bit. The staff was friendly. Had one incident that really upset us. I read all the reviews to watch out for the concierge. I was prepared not to let them con us to sit in a meeting for a breakfast. When the front desk told us to check in with he concierge, I told them right away that we are not interested to sit in on a presentation and to buy or sell any timeshare. Oh no, this is not a sales pitch we will be hearing, just to familirize us with the new point system. We went. Had a lousy breakfast. Heard about the point system and were ask to stay after the presentation. Again I told them that we are not interested in buying anything. Oh no. It ended up that they wanted us to buy points for $45,000.00. Are you kidding me? I lost it and told them that we are in our 70th and are not interested spending this kind of money. What did they do? They brought in a manager. I ended up sreaming at them and left, feeling angry that I allowed us to fall for something again. So, BE AWARE. Booked a 4 hour wale watching tour. Saw a lot of dolphines but no wale. Guess, July is not the month to try to see wales. Heidi H.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Old and Charming

Aug 4th, 2019

Stayed in a 2 bedroom for two nights. The rooms were a good size. There is only one bathroom. These rooms are old apartments. The unit was clean, the bathroom is large but had no counter spaces, including keeping toothbrushes by the sink. There is a dining area and a small kitchen. Staff were very helpful. We did not experience any pressure on attending a time share session. Parking is valet and the attendants were very good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great stay in renovated room near Balboa Park.

Super friendly staff in this classic beauty of a timeshare like no other. This property has class and panache. Our room was a big one bedroom with personality plus. Reasonable valet rate for parking that is well lit and safe. Great location!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

BEWARE: TIMESHARE

Jun 3rd, 2019

The hotel itself is convenient, clean, and spacious. However, the concierge staff were pushy to sign us up for a complimentary breakfast and gifts without telling us that we had to sit through a timeshare presentation until taking a deposit first. We felt the concierge staff were not genuine with their intentions. The complimentary gifts and breakfast were not good and not worth the time spent there. The sales rep and presenters were forceful with trying to sell us a timeshare. They are vague with their answers when monetary questions are asked and try to steer the conversation away from the topic. They tried to not mention any monetary values, despite asking on multiple occasions, which would confuse anyone about the value of the time share. The presentation was a complete waste of time. Overall, I would not stay there again unless we wanted to be harassed to buy a timeshare. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
