Hotel with Bed and Breakfast Quality

Jan 16th, 2020

I wish I could have stayed longer. Inn of the Governors exceeded all expectations for me. The staff was friendly 100% of the time and were always willing to make sure we were accommodated. The room itself was in immaculate condition. Everything was clean and the decor is exactly what you would expect when visiting Santa Fe. I love love loved having the fireplace in the room. It was pretty cold outside so to be able to have a cozy fire was great. I was able to keep it going with an unlimited supply of wood which was just a fee steps away. I enjoyed the "tea and sherry hour" where I drank a warm cup of tea outside next to a fireplace to keep us warm. The location is a 5 minute walk from their square which is loaded with shops and restaurants. This was my first trip to New Mexico and I'm so glad I made the choice to come here. Inn of the Governors made this trip feel more like pleasure than business. Thanks! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

In the Heart Of Downtown Santa Fe

Jan 12th, 2020

We stayed here three nights through Booking.com. The best way to book is directly with the Inn at the Governor’s. It is nicely decorated and very cozy. I stayed in room 302. If you are a light sleeper this is not the room for you. It’s right next to the street and vehicles love to rev up their car motors at the stop sign. After 10 pm I didn’t hear the cars anymore. The inside of the room was very fitting for the area. Bed was comfortable. There is a safe in the room for any valuables. They even had a magnifying mirror on the wall by the sink area. The breakfast was very good. They have an tea, sherry and hot chocolate time in afternoon but we never tried it. I forgot my phone charger and they put it in the mail for me. Great place to stay but for light sleepers ask to sleep in the back area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Conveniently located but very loud

Jan 10th, 2020

I booked this place for a night in Santa Fe to celebrate my mom's birthday. Based on the price ($350 when I stayed) and reviews I though it would be a nice, higher end experience. Unfortunately I was quite wrong. First, the parking lot is so small and tight that it was a struggle to park even my compact car without scratching someone else's in the process. If you have truck...good luck with that. The rooms were nice, clean, and well designed in a classic NM style but the walls must be made of paper because I could hear everything happening in all the rooms around us. The person next door watched TV until 4 am, it must have been funny because they laughed a whole lot. Every time anyone ran their water it sounded like monsoon season in the deep jungle. I know the pipes are old but, jeeze, either fix them or lower the rate. The garbage truck came to empty the dumpster in the wee hours which sounded like an impromptu Stomp performance outside the window. I mentioned all of this front desk person in the morning and received a, "oh, I'm sorry" as a consolation prize. On the plus side, it's very close to the plaza. So, I guess only book this place if you drive a smart car and are going to be the loudest person there. People with insomnia might also enjoy, since you wont be trying to sleep anyway and they have the funny TV stations. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome complimentary breakfast!

Jan 8th, 2020

Just returned from four days in Santa Fe, which I visit every few years. Always stay at the Inn of the Governors. It's convenient (two blocks from the Plaza), affordable, and friendly. Ask for a room with a wood-burning kiva fireplace; you can't beat the relaxation of a warm, crackling fire after a full winter's day of shopping at Santa Fe's great galleries. The complimentary Mountain Sunrise breakfast is terrific--huevos rancheros, sausage, pancakes, oatmeal, hash browns, fruit, pastries. The whole package is really a bargain, without sacrificing quality or comfort. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The Best!

I’ve stayed at the Inn of the Govenors multiple times- with friends, family and alone. It is always clean. You are greeted from the moment you arrived by the valet , who is most accommodating and friendly. The front desk people will give you a warm welcome and tell what the Inn has to offer- tea and sherry in late afternoon and the Mountain breakfast. The breakfast has a variety of options- two kinds of eggs, meats, fruit, yogurt, breads, cereal, juices. My grands love the pool and think that Del Charro has the very best chicken strips. The Inn is located two blocks from the square, east walking and shopping. Lovely SW decor. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
