Good place

Jun 14th, 2019

This place is a bit different than the other downtown hotels. It seems it was built as a motor lodge but they have upgraded and tried to repurpose the property as a luxury hotel - with a good amount of success. My room was not large but it was big enough, comfortable beds, very well working air conditioning and nice bathroom amenities. Wifi was quite powerful too and nice big tv with a plethora of channels. The walls are a bit thin, I could hear the people in the room next to me but I travel with a white noise machine and that covered up the noise effectively. There was also frequently some street noise but this seemed to diminish later in the evening so it did not disturb my sleep. The bath towels were a bit thin hopefully they are due for replacement. But don't let me dissuade you - overall this was a comfortable place and I would not hesitate to stay here again - I just might explore the various room options instead of just accepting the lowest price room. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, made me feel welcome. The quality of complimentary breakfast was a bit disappointing, I'm wondering if the 2 mornings I was there if they were just kind of "off" because I read the glowing reviews of others on Tripadvisor. Again I'd definitely stay here again, I think overall they have a great place in a great location. Del Charro definitely is a steal compared to prices of other downtown Santa Fe restaurants. Great location, great amenities

Jun 14th, 2019

The location for this room was walking distance close to most of Santa Fe's attractions. This is an old hotel, so the rooms are not spacious. Some rooms have working wood fireplaces (wood provided). Provided in your daily room rent is an all you can eat delicious breakfast that was spectacular in a room with plenty of ambiance. Afternoon break included a free tasting of sherry or hot tea. What a lovely surprise!

Jun 13th, 2019

We knew we wanted this stay in Santa Fe to be near the plaza and chose the Inn based on reviews. But what a lovely surprise to find the perfect mix of a historic setting with modern comforts, friendly and attentive service, a lovely courtyard, and a knockout breakfast buffet. The Inn of the Governors made our stay so nice that we’re contemplating a return to Santa Fe soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My Mom, my granddaughter and I went for a girls trip. This hotel is very beautiful. The pool area is amazing. The breakfast that was included was wonderful. We ate at the hotel both nights. Wonderful service from everyone we encountered!!!! Thank you!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We Always Come Back Here

Jun 11th, 2019

We have just stayed at this Inn for the 5th time. Each trip we consider other hotels, just to try something different, but somehow we just have to stay here. Don’t really need to repeat the positives in any detail—central location, parking, friendly staff, sherry hour, pool, etc.—because so many other reviewers have, but I simply must repeat the chorus of reviewers who compliment the hotel’s cleanliness. It is spotless. So tip your room attendants well. I do have a slight recommendation to make on the breakfast selections. We usually stay for more than a week, and the buffet gets to be a bit tiresome, regardless of how good it is. I know changing things up daily is impossible, but how about offering some plain yogurt—the current yogurt is very sweet and adding fruit makes it sweeter—with some fruit/raisins/nuts on the side? Any chance of a quiche cut in small squares? Some pieces of cheese and ham—just plain. Not to belabor the point.... Stay here and try it out. You won’t be sorry you did. I’m sure you’ll be back. We miss it already. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
