Very Expensive

Aug 17th, 2019

We arrived from western Canada very early in the morning....we were given the choice of a room with 2 single beds or wait until 3pm for a queen so we took our room and slept. Bar was very nice and VERY expensive as was dinner later( after 8pm) Lots of nice places to eat in the block surrounding the hotel. Checking out got interesting as I had thought I had purchased an adapter and the desk was quite rude and insisted on it back.....they were not understanding the concept of purchasing the thing and I had to go to the concierge to get it straightened out. Ideal Intercontinental

Aug 6th, 2019

We’ve stayed in quite a few Intercontinental Hotels but none as beautiful and filled with charming employees like the one in Madrid. From the gracious and friendly greeting by Carlos the doorman to the excellent service in the lobby bar by smiling Antonio this hotel had us charmed. Fabulous breakfasts. The most scrumptious buffet for Sunday brunch and wonderful cocktails and tapas. The concierge was right on every time with his recommendations as well. The young man with glasses was invaluable. I’m sorry I don’t remember his name. The room was lovely with old world charm and a beautiful view of the Castellana from the balcony. I understand it’s going to be renovated in the near future but I hope they keep the old world charm and elegance. I have nothing but good things to say about this hotel. I know it made our stay a stellar one. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One of my favorite hotels!

Aug 6th, 2019

I always stay at this hotel when I’m in Madrid. From the minute you arrive the staff are incredibly friendly and always welcoming. Any help that you need with the concierge to housekeeping they are there for you. InterContinental Madrid is located on Madrid’s Paseo de la Castellana Avenue, 150 m from Gregorio Marañón Metro Station. This converted 18th-century palace has an attractive restaurant with a garden terrace. The spacious, air-conditioned rooms at the InterContinental feature classic-style décor. Each one comes with flat-screen satellite TV, and Free WiFi is available. The El Jardín Restaurant serves a daily buffet breakfast, and on Sundays there is an extensive brunch. Again, the staff here are very welcoming and helpful. The suites and club rooms have access to the hotel’s InterContinental Club, which includes a lounge where you can enjoy an all-day buffet, computers, free ironing service and late check-out. The hotel is just 400 m from Calle Serrano Street, famous for its shops. Barajas Airport is 7.5 mi away. Just outside of the hotel entrance you have taxis available at all times. Always a pleasure coming back. Dr. Erick J. Mann, PhD Professor of History and Fulbright Scholar TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

An Excellent Hotel in a Good Location

Aug 1st, 2019

This five-star hotel is centrally located and easily accessible by Metro. The décor is classically stylish and the Reception staff friendly, polite and speak good English. There is a supermarket about 300 metres from the hotel (in an adjacent side street). The breakfast menu is very extensive; and can be taken either indoors or in an open central courtyard. The staff in the dining room were friendly and helpful. The free wi-fi worked extremely well, as did the air conditioning. There was a refrigerator in the room, as well as tea/coffee making facilities which included a coffee pod machine. Overall an excellent hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
