I visited and stayed at the Barclay several times before the pandemic and always loved it for the vibe, the awesome and friendly staff and how detailed and perfectly organized and clean everything was. This was my first time back since re-opening in October and I still love, love this hotel. I congratulate the team in how they are handling the new procedures with regards to Covid, their kindness and commitment to excellent service and making sure you feel welcome and safe. The eye for detail is noticeable in everything: how clean everything is from the hall to the elevators to the beautiful rooms. I look forward to visiting again soon. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great Stay thanks to Hotel Manager

Last July we had a horrible experience that I reviewed in detail previously. Apparently this review was brought to the attention of the Hotel Manager and he reached out to me to correct the problem. Without going into the details, we returned for an outstanding weekend. My wife and I have been Intercontinental Ambassador members for about 15 years and this was one of the best stays ever! Mistakes are unavoidable but how they are resolved reaffirmed why we continue our membership. Thanks TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location walkable to many sights

Great location walkable to many iconic sights that Manhattan has to offer. Rooms are clean and warmly decorated. Easy access to the light rail and subway system. It's been nine months since I stayed here but was reminded to post a review after binge watching Homeland (a TV show in the US) . Several episodes were filmed here with the lobby ceiling being the most obvious. The downside is the poor service at the Gin Parlour bar. The hotel charges a daily fee which can be used as a credit at the bar but not enough to cover drinks for two. Did not appreciate the bar's mandatory 15% service chargel. Gratuity should be based on customer's satisfaction which typically range from 15%-20%. Felt the service is poor because of the guaranteed gratuity. The waitress had an attitude, and was hard to get any acknowledgement, smile, or any type of service. Aside from poor service at the bar, the remainder of the hotel staff were professional and things went smoothly. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The lobby, rooms, the bar, the gym and the entire experience one of the memorable stays of all times. Absolutely beautiful hotel. On my second visit, it was a surprise the front desk staff knew i stayed there before. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Friendly welcome by reception staff. All hotel staff we interacted with over the 4 days were super helpful, friendly and professional. Good breakfast . Very central location. Nice room, comfy bed ( very soft pillows, too soft for me but i'm sure if i asked they provide firmer pillows ) Room is on the small seize but it's New York. City... The walls are thin , you can actually hear conversations from neighbouring rooms, so be prepared for that. There are many bars and restaurants nearby. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
