Excellent location and staff!

Jan 25th, 2020

We arrived before 8am on an overnight flight and they got us into our hotel room right away and brought up the requested fridge while we were out that day. Room was comfortable as were the beds and the water was always hot. We ordered room service for breakfast one morning and it was hot and delish. We also ate the buffet breakfast but it was very overpriced for what it was, although they did not charge for our toddler. The door staff were amazing -remembering us and asking about our day and recommending some amazing places for food. The location of the hotel is excellent. 5 minute walk to The Lion King theatre and the center of Time Square. 15 minute walk to Rockerfeller Center. Many places to eat and shop and a taxi always passing by. We will definitely return here! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good hotel, excellent location

Jan 24th, 2020

Clean and comfortable rooms with great view from our hotel room, we stayed on 31st floor and couldn’t complain. The downside was that the breakfast was not the best. Really limited choice and very pricey. If you haven’t booked it with your room you be looking at additional $150 a day. Staff was very professional and friendly. In your room rate you also have $20 dollars daily drink and food allowance TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Location and Quiet ... not sure about daily fee of 35 dollars

Jan 24th, 2020

This hotel is centrally located and sits on top of Subway stop. There rooms are small but bed are comfy. Stinger’s bar has great cocktails and the hotel feels safe. Think it’s the quietest hotel I’ve stayed in ever in NYC. Please note they do charge a daily fee of 35 dollars. WiFi is good. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Poor Front of House Staff. So rude and unhelpful

Jan 24th, 2020

This is a hotel in a great location by Times Square and lovely views of the city but my goodness some of the staff here are a so rude and really need training in customer service. How can you work in this type of work that is public facing and not know how to be friendly or helpful to paying customers?!! After a long flight from England arrived at the hotel and checked in at the desk. Didn’t get any offer to take our bags up or helps with our 4 cases as travelling around for few weeks. Didn’t get any information about how to get to our rooms so much so that we got lost and got into the wrong lift as different lifts go to different parts of the hotel - so had to wheel all our 4 cases back to the ground floor. Walked over to the check in desk and asked the check in / check out ambassador about how we could get to our rooms as we’d somehow ended up in the wrong lifts. She didn’t even bother to listen to the question and didn’t even look up from what she was typing to greet us and just shouted out “take the four lifts to the back” whatever that meant! When tried to ask exactly which ones she meant as there were different areas she just repeated it in a silly sarcastic mocking tone as though to mock us for being silly to ask about something like elevators which we had no idea about! How utterly rude and appalling. In all our trips we stay at IHG but my goodness the attitude of the staff in this place is just so ridiculous. Do not work in this kind of role if you don’t like people asking you questions! Also, how can you call yourself the check in / check out ambassador when you clearly should be helping people rather than making them feel silly for asking a question that is perfectly reasonable. Definitely felt was worth bringing this up with the front of house manager who apologised and said she would take it up with the staff. We were offered a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine which we refused as we are not sparkling wine drinkers. They then offered to for us to complimentary breakfast for our stay which they didn’t honour and when we asked about it met with another rude defensive front of house Person who said the vouchers are coming to your room which of-course have never arrived. Complete let down and embarrassment to the intercontinental group! Everything else in the hotel is nice, the location, the rooms and the ambience. Shame about the front of house! Most enjoyable nyc hotel to date

Jan 21st, 2020

I have been visiting the Apple sporadically since college staying mostly at the Milford in the 80s and most recently hilton properties.Having stayed @ the IC Boston I was surprised to see it avaialable for an amex rewards redemption on a weekend. Early check in was appreciated after walking from Penn station in snow squall but room upgrade was denied and had to sleep in seperate bed from my wife.High floor was granted, corner room denied.Gift amenity never came but $100 credit did. Room was on 32-very quiet clean and decent size for ny with beautiful bathroom, amenities and high end bathrobes and towels. Location was excellent,we never used a cab or rideshare and were able to walk to theatres,Times Sq,radio city music hall, hells kitchen, rockefeller ctr no problem despite the cold weather. Also great beer bars like NY Beer Co and Beer Culture-avoid Smiths across the street unless you like dives.Plenty of food around too.Hotel employees were gracious in person and on phone, housekeeping did a good job.Our only regret was leaving after only 2 days! Didnt check out onsite restaurant/lounge stingers always busy except early morning. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
