Not going back!

Dec 4th, 2019

So we booked this through Priceline for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The weather turned and we needed to go up a night early. So I went to my Priceline booking and there was no option to add a night. Ok, so I called the hotel...or so I thought. I actually got the call center in Jamaica and they have no idea what is going on. I was assured my reservations could be linked and there would be no problem. WRONG! I had to check out and check back in the first morning there (they did not make me change rooms). The room was TINY and cramped. If those were queen beds, I will eat the beds, no way, no how. And let's talk parking garage...awful! I had the front underside of my Subaru Legacy scraped because it is such a shoddy parking garage. It is very convenient to park right next to the hotel but I honestly don't trust that garage and will not be back. Perhaps it was because they were working the holiday, but front desk staff was less than kind. I am not returning to this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Still our favorite hotel in St Paul

Nov 29th, 2019

We stay in St. Paul frequently for family and business travel, and have stayed in the other downtown St. Paul hotels, most of them two or three times, and the Intercontinental is still our favorite St Paul stay. We love the friendly and courteous staff and the facilities have everything we need. Ask for a riverfront room, the rooms are larger and and the views are unparalleled. We were upgraded to a suite and were quite amazed by the amount of space, made our stay very comfortable. Conveniently located in downtown St Paul, easy walk to shows, restaurants, breweries, and sports venues. If your business is downtown, then the bus from airport and the Green Line make it easy make your stay car-free. There was a little noise from a neighboring room, and also we could hear the train crossing the river in night; I suspect the city-facing rooms are quieter. But for us, the view of the river makes the noise trade-off worth it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Quiet Hotel

Nov 23rd, 2019

Stayed in St. Paul instead of downtown Minneapolis. The room was large and I was lucky enough to get a corner room. The view in the morning of the sunrise is pretty nice but otherwise it's just St. Paul. Very comfortable bed and good place for quiet night of sleep. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Run down hotel with small rooms

Nov 15th, 2019

The website makes it seem like a nice hotel but it really is pretty old and dated, and the service was not the best. My rooms vents dried me out and made gurgling noises when heat was turned on. Room service experience was pretty bad for both myself and coworker. We both ordered in advance and expected on time delivery to get to a conference on time. When mine arrived 20 minutes late I was simply told that they had other orders that needed to be timed to deliver together. Then what is the point of ordering breakfast for a specific time?? I barely had a chance to eat it and the bacon was overcooked and bad tasting, eggs did not have cheese as requested, and no apology from the person who delivered the food when I told her I probably would not have time to eat it. My coworkers order both times was forgotten and she cancelled it. She said they laughed and thought it was delivered ready when she mentioned it one time. Front desk staff was mostly nice. Sometimes there was a lot of people standing around up there being immature. Young kids working the desk. Elevators take forever. Lobby water was good and infused with oranges. I had great fish tacos at the Citizen bar and they were very nice staff. My coworker had a mediocre burger however. Wish we stayed at the St. Paul hotel instead. Won't be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great hotel on the Mississippi River

Oct 31st, 2019

Stayed at the Intercontinental for a conference in October. Room was spacious with great view of the river and hotel is close to restaurants nearby and the hotel has a restaurant as well however I did not dine there. You can Uber from airport however the metro bus runs right by hotel from airport and takes about 30 minutes for $2-2.50 TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
