Great visit, exceptional staff

We stayed in a room on the 15th floor from the 10th until the 15th. During our stay we found the hotel to be clean, comfortable and most of all the staff was exceptionally friendly/helpful. This "bucket list" trip for my husband who has terminal cancer could not have gone better. I feel that without the high level of service and comfort afforded by the Intercontinental - the trip would not have been the success that it was. Thank you! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Filthy, rude staff, dried blood on duvet, spiders in bathroom, construction

I think the title says enough. This was truly a horrific experience, especially during Covid. I upgraded to a king "suite" and it was truly the most awful hotel experience I've ever had. 1) dried blood on duvet 2) towels were not fully clean 3) spiders in bathroom 4) carpet filthy 5) light bulbs actually burned out in bathroom 6) construction that was literally all night long which was so loud I could not sleep. Really defeated the purpose of trying to have a quiet, nice place to land during a cross-country move. It was a one-night stay and the next morning I told the staff about my awful experience--I was dismissed. Literally had the woman look past me and say "can I help who is next?" Then--despite multiple attempts to speak with IHG and a manager, nobody can seem to bother to get back to me. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
First Class Pre-Covid Stay

My best friend and I spent one night here pre-covid and had an excellent time. I chose it as it is more modern that the other IC over by Nob Hill and they have an excellent lounge here (I'm a Spire Ambassador). The room was superb with an amazing view, huge bathroom, comfortable beds and great staff. I felt very happy here and would definitely stay on my next visit to the Bay Area. Kudos to the team at the Executive Lounge as well. Keep up the excellent work. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Fantastic FOH Service with a Frankenstein Booking

I just checked in here, but I felt like I had to compliment JR for their fantastic FOH service. I checked in with three different bookings for 4 days, one with a certificate, one in cash, and one through AMEX. JR was fantastic in dealing with a challenging booking. They clearly outlined all of the COVID-19 closures, systematically checked me in to all three bookings while clearly explaining which each charge was. They asked about late-check out for Platinum Status at check-in which took me by surprise. JR was really fantastic. Housekeeping was prompt in bringing a toothbrush, room is comfortable and well appointed, but nothing you wouldn't expect to see at a comparable hotel. Social distancing felt like it was taken seriously. As someone visiting my SO from out of town to have a stay-in-room staycation in this pandemic, everything felt comfortable. The location was incredibly convenient (wish I stayed here at the AGU conference at Moscone last year!) Definitely will become my go-to stay in SF. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A dirty stay in SF

We stayed here for what was supposed to be a little cooler weather city escape during the recent wildfires. Intercontinentals are usually very nice hotels, but this one was far below the usual standard. The IHG pledge of cleanliness was no where to be found in our “upgraded” club room. As a platinum ambassador, I don’t really see how this was an upgrade since the club is closed. But leaving that aside, the towels were stained, the sheets while not visibly stained were palpably crunchy in places, and several of the hand sanitizer dispensers were empty. It was just gross to be honest. We left a night early (mostly because we could not face putting ourselves back in the crunchy sheets) and the manager on duty did discuss the situation and apologized and gave us a discount. Still, they should just close this hotel if this is the best standard they can do right now. It was not acceptable for a Holdiay Inn Express, let alone an Intercontinental The Grand Hyatt was closed this month, but I think that is a far better option in general if you need to stay near Union Square IMHO. Taj Campton was also closed. I think it’s just not a good time to be staying in SF right now. Let’s hope 2021 is better TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
