Inter Continental, what a place

Feb 22nd, 2020

Sydney, our first stop on a 3 week vacation and we were not disappointed. We loved the Inter Continental for the views, the friendly and helpful staff and the location (not being very far from Sydney Harbour Bridge, Opera House and harbour ferries). The buffet breakfast was a great choice if you were unsure where to buy a great breakfast nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Intercontinental standard - good experience

Feb 22nd, 2020

You can trust Interconti standard. Maybe it’s not the most luxurious place, but you’ll get real value, comfortable room, lots of extras and friendly, professional service. Intercontinental Sydney confirms all of this. And lucky you, if you get a room with Harbor View (eg 1302). TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Requested room allocated on arrival, first class room beautiful views over Sydney Bridge and Opera House. Breakfast was something special, everything you could want and more, staff very friendly. Would recommend, very close to ferries. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Elegance at Harbor's Edge (rooms ageing/simple, but clean)

Feb 20th, 2020

Wonderful experience and elegant ageing luxury tower sitting at edge of Sydney Harbor, a few hundred meters from the famed opera house. Prime location for tourists and business travelers, as next to the central business district, as well. Staff: Top marks, good experience from the Reception desk and Valet/Doorman. Breakfast: Wonderful variety of food and room. Rooms: The only drawback of the hotel is that the rooms are quite simple/ageing, clearly from a different era, in this old luxury tower. They were perfectly clean and perfectly enjoyable; just wouldn't be considered luxurious from a style perspective. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Elegance and Location

Feb 19th, 2020

There isn't a better situated hotel in Sydney's CBD. It's just steps from Circular Quay, the Sydney Opera House and ferry/tour boat ticketing. The rooms were well appointed. We moved to this facility after another IHG property couldn't handle the rain and moved our room multiple times. We were instantly greeted and our baggage taken by the bell captain. They actually almost beat us to our room! Our package included breakfast and jeepers, WHAT A BREAKFAST! There's a ton of value in the option. You could fill up and head out for the day, only really needing a light dinner. From smoked salmon and charcuterie to omelets and bacon to fried rice and miso, they've got options for you. The Botanical Gardens, the Sydney Eye, the Harbour Bridge and a ton of extremely upscale shopping and museums are all within easy walking distance. The concierge was fantastic and helped us obtain tickets for a highly sought after sold out show at the Opera House. We had a rather long stay at 10 days but we really tried to get the most out if it. You must try High Tea at the Cortile in the lobby. Donna in the Cortile was a hoot and a font of information! They don't have ice machines but you can call room service and they'll bring you an ice bucket. The only con was housekeeping serviced our room very late in the day, usually after we returned from doing something and wanted to relax @ 4:30PM. They also don't really have any perks for IHG Elite members. Also, there's significant high rise construction next to the hotel and they start really early and loudly but that's part of life in a major metro area I truly cannot recommend this establishment enough. Everything is at your fingertips here! (Pictured: High Tea service) TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
