Samantha (Front Desk) turned an ordinary visit into a memorable stay. She was friendly, helpful. She made us feel like valued members. Despite services being closed due to covid, room was comfortable. ToGo Breakfast was delivered early each morning. Room view was wonderful. Holiday decorations were really nice. Can't wait to return as soon as things get back to normal TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We had an amazing time for a long weekend away. Our 2 children had to Zoom school from the room which they had no problems doing the entire day. The room was spacious and the bathroom was beautiful. My only frustration is that the restaurant was closed for remodeling. Due to COVID, it was hard to find a restaurant late in the evening to eat at and my children were looking forward to breakfast in bed while at school. Never fear, there was a Starbucks across the street. The room was immaculate and the Nespresso machine was an added bonus. I want to stay here again when COVID is long gone. The staff were all very pleasant and accommodating. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Good experience by the sea

We came at the end of November for a getaway from the Bay Area. This was the best experience I could expect from a hotel during Covid times. Staff were very helpful, and kept a distance that was safe for them and for us. Hotel dropped off breakfast bags in the morning and our few toiletry requests were met quickly! I booked this as a rewards stay but paid cash to upgrade to a partial view fireplace room, which was a great choice for us! The water is right there we enjoyed the sound of the waves from our room. The room was a good size, which works well for a time when many other indoor activities are unavailable. Saturday evening featured live guitar music that could be heard from the patio, where guests can sit by the outdoor firepits. We could choose to hear it my opening our sliding door, or close the door when we preferred quiet. Around the hotel, and in Monterey in general, people were very respectful with use of masks and distance. If looking for a cozy stay near the water focused on the room itself, rather than amenitites that have to be closed right now, this was a great choice! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Worst InterContinental hotel ever.

Front desk staffs are rude and inattentive as they need to finish their conversations while guest are waiting. They do key control with magnetic key cards that will get broken if it gets anywhere near electronic devices (iPhone 12 users beware), and their property spans three blocks (including parking garage) where you will be easily locked out with dysfunctional keys. They do not care about the inconveniences these keys cause and would be “perfectly happy” to replace the keys each and every time. Absolutely below standards of what you would expect from the InterContinental chains, and would stay away given the price point it’s at. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Free street parking: If you are willing to walk four blocks you can save the hotel parking fees. Laine Street @ Hoffman Street has tons of free street parking, no restrictions on how long you can park. We parked there for 2 days when we stayed at the Intercontinental hotel. This is valid as of November 2020,, please double check and make sure the city has not added parking restrictions in this area. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
