Debby

We just left this morning and hated to leave. Very accommodating. My husband has some disabilites and even though we didn't request a handicap room they gave us one Very friendly and excellent breakfast. Rooms clean and bed very comfortable. No complaints about this property. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Room damp and musty smelling

Jan 5th, 2020

I called around 2 hours before check in time, asking for a room up high and away from vending and elevator. When we arrived we were commanded to "sit over there" and wait. My room was about 10 feet from the elevator. The room air was damp and musty no matter how low I turned the ac. Saturday am the dirty towels were removed and the waste cans emptied. By 1pm still no clean towels. I had to go downstairs and ask. There were 5 employees standing around the front desk talking with each other. I was told "there is only one person up there cleaning, she will get to you in a few minutes. I saw that "one person's" cart. It was at the complete other end of the hall. No way the housekeeper would be at my room in a few minutes. One of the house keeper persons talking at the front desk was eager to help, unlike the person that was obvioulsy in charge, the same one that commanded us to "sit over there" the day before. Later I used the computer in the lobby. The employees were so loud, again about 5 of them, that it was difficult to hear when I made a phone call. Breakfast - no bananas, but really good grapes! No boiled eggs even though the refrigerator has EGGS embossed on the door. No fitness room. No association with any area gyms. The toilet handle was falling off the toilet. The carpet outside the elevator was not vacumed for the 48 hours we were there. I stepped over the same crumbs Room had refrigerator but no microwave The hotel is tucked in down a side street. A really nice quiet location. The elevator inspection sticker has an expiration date of 5/19, I am writing this review on Jan 5, 2020. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Horrible customer service, Worst hotel experience ever!

Oct 9th, 2019

We got into our rooms around 11pm after an exhausting day hiking with our friends. We were looking forward to a relaxing night. The room was supposed to be a king bed but had two doubles. We were too tired to complain. My wife was already in bed asleep when i got out of the shower and was using the hair dryer. The power completely went off, probably just a blown circuit. The front desk clerk explained she was the only staff on duty and the only thing she could do was move us to a new room. so at 1AM i wake my wife up and we move to another incorrect room, not a king bed and also not on first floor as requested. Thankfully we had flashlights, the clerk offered ZERO help. When i went back to the clerk desk to tell her how we should be compensated for this horrible experience she pointed her finger at me and said "well this is all your fault!". she continued to blame us and said there was nothing she could do but we needed to talk to a manager in the morning. Of course come morning time there was no manager and the manger never called us. We called back and finally got a hold of a manger. She is giving us the go around and taking no responsibility. the manager continued to blame the booking website... We should be compensated for this horrible experience.. but they wont even do so much as offer us a free bottled water! Stay away! Also, the bathroom floors had hair and toenails all over them. Use to be where we would stay

Aug 4th, 2019

The location is great as the setting is beautiful and cozy, so we would stay here on the way to Florida. But the last time we went the sheets were crusty and gross!!. If it wasnt so late (12am) we would have called the front desk.. Instead we slept on TOP of the sheets. I hate it when you pay so much for the hotel that the sheets were not changed. Also, no cinnamon buns for breakfast! And both of us are Platinum and Holiday Inn Vacation Club owners. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rooms never cleaned

Jul 19th, 2019

We were booked at this hotel by our district, not by choice. It is a 2-star hotel as far as I could see but I can see why. First, all thanks to our afternoon/evening concierge, Toya. She earned the 2-stars at least. She was extremely helpful, friendly and approachable, and is very competent. Also, thanks to the young lady who did breakfast in the morning, Yasmin. She was very sweet, immediate, and professional. After setting up and making sure everything was replenished, she walked to each person to ask if we were ok, and she noticed her patrons. She noticed I was always up early. The hotel is not bad-looking, the decor/facade is nice. However, updates to the actual structure were definitely needed. The rooms smell like mildew was first and foremost an issue. Other than that, I put the green room tag on my door, so I knew that meant I would keep my sheets all week. The towels were changed out/picked up 4/5 days. The bed was made, but not as neatly as I have seen other hotels. However, the physical room was never cleaned. I know because the shower was never cleaned. It makes me wonder how thoroughly it was cleaned after each patron. And, my colleague killed a flying roach and I saw and killed a little red spider. I have never seen a bug in a hotel. It was an ok stay otherwise. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
