A bit disappointing.....

Not sure why I chose to stay at this location. Any other Marriott offers complimentary breakfast and afternoon happy hour to their clients that use SPG/Marriott points. Not here. Was told my room was upgraded to a California King bed.... no chance this bed is a CA king. A few little extras go a long way with a long time customer, whether points are used or not. Not sure I would stay here again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Beautiful Older Hotel in Chicago
Feb 27th, 2020
My wife and I took the train into Chicago for a long weekend, we stayed at the JW Marriott. Its only 3 blocks from Union Station so it was a quick walk. We arrived at the Hotel at 1030 am. We knew it was early for check in so we asked the Front desk if they could hold our bags until check in. I was surprised when she said, (I could just check us in.) My thought wow thank you we didn't want to carry our bags around town for the day. The staff were accommodating, friendly, and very knowledgeable about where places are in town. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

As an elite level Marriott member you would expect an outstanding experience at a Marriott. Wrong. Not here. This is owned by a real estate company, not Marriott, and the accommodations at this place were terrible. Room is tiny, outdated, and when brought to management attention, I got a standard “oh, we do the best we can” attitude. Very unMarriott service If you’re expecting a great room? Nope. View is the inside of an office building. Don’t waste time here and find a different property nearby. There are plenty of other Marriotts around who are far better. Or, even check out other brands nearby. Thanks but no thanks JW. Wouldn’t even think of returning here. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Very nice hotel w/great location

This is probably one of the nicest hotels at which I've ever stayed. Not only is it beautiful, but the service is impeccable. Parking, of course, isn't the greatest or convenient, but stay for the location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Not deserving of JW Marriott luxury standard...
Feb 21st, 2020
We booked this hotel for a staycation mainly to try the spa services and enjoy the JW Marriott brand normally accustomed to from our travels in other cities. Needless to say it was quite a disappointment... Even though we were put in the remodeled section of the hotel, it still felt old and underwhelming in terms of design and amenities for a luxury hotel. But that was OK as we really came for a quick staycation and mainly to enjoy the spa services and dinner out downtown Chicago. Reception was decently courteous, so was the Spa reception team - not great, not bad, def not 5-star catering level. The Spa amenities arent huge but you get a nice 30-ft long pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna as well as nice showers and shared experience room for drinking with your partner. The main thing that was a let down was the noise.between the rooms... we were unfortunate enough to have a neighbor next door blast loud hip-hop/soul music for hours on end, and I had to talk to front desk/reception twice (once over the phone, a second time I had to go down to beg for them to do something an hour later) to get the volume down to a more reasonable loudness (still loud)... Really to what I expected from a 5-star level kind of hotel... This almost ruined our stay despite having enjoyed the spa... But I have to say that this is not the kind of JW Marriott experience I have been accustomed to... such a shame. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
