Good trip

Jul 21st, 2019

Just completed a stay at the JW Marriott Marco Island and it was pretty good. We took our toddler (17M). After reading the reviews, I was slightly nervous that we would run into issues with valet parking, the room not being ready or clean, etc. to my surprise it was pretty seamless. As a Platinum member we got upgraded to Partial Pool and Gulf View. We tried to use suite night awards but the request was denied. The room was pretty nice but could be cleaner. I noticed some water marks on the desk so when I went to go wipe, there was strange brown residue... otherwise the room was nice. We requested a crib but a pack n play was provided. Parents beware. My toddler barely fit in it. I think he might have curled to fit. Either way he slept fine! As a Platinum member you had a choice of 1K points or free continental breakfast (+$10 for hot breakfast). We opted for the breakfast. It worked out well! We didn’t need to pay an extra $10 for hot breakfast. Saved us $55 for me and my husband. Fruit, breads, pastries, yogurt were all available in addition to coffee and fresh OJ. I had lox and bagels every morning. Loved it! Dolly was an amazing server who was so sweet to our toddler. So friendly!! We ate at the pizza place and Quinn’s. The first night our toddler was sleeping so I decided to Mobile order from Quinn’s. Bad idea. My husband went to pick up and no one knew how the system worked. My husband had to stand around and wait to be acknowledged. I would recommend training the staff on mobile pickup orders. Otherwise the grouper caesar wrap was pretty good. However, when we ate at Quinn’s for dinner the following night, Alex our server was great. I asked if he could bring PB&J for my toddler who was making it known he was hungry. He turned it around so fast!! Beach was nice and pool was pretty good. No complaints there. Good trip overall. The Absolute Best in Marco Island

Jul 21st, 2019

Have been staying here for over 30 years. This visit we stayed in the new adult only wing (Sirene). The room was very modern and very clean. Desk Clerk... Jessica was extremely professional and was a true hospitality ambassador for the resort upon our arrival. The new restaurant and the game room/ bowling area is a hit for adults and kids. The Resort gets better and better every visit. Joan the concierge is always there to assist and provide info year after year. Congrats to management for having a brilliant team, and a Beautiful resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Beach - Restaurants just so so!

Jul 21st, 2019

Beautiful spa and beach. Lovely pool area and the staff are friendly. Enjoyed our stay. Didn't find the restaurants were anything spectacular. Drinks were over priced. Hotel entrance is bizarre. You would not even know you are entering a resort. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Top of the list

Jul 20th, 2019

This is our 13th time at this hotel, including quite a few times before it converted from a regular Marriott to a J. W. Marriott. We come for a conference but stay for the weekend and always bring the family. I’m not saying this is the best hotel I’ve ever been to, as I’ve been to many nice hotels, but is my favorite. The facilities are beautiful and the location is unbeatable. Even in July. In Florida. Even over a 5 day stay, there’s little incentive to leave the property (even though there are many good restaurants on Marco Island and other things to do). It’s pretty magical here. Here are a few pro tips: *it pays to be a Marriott bonvoy member, especially gold or above if you can swing it. *we generally self park. The lot is tight but the walk is short. Valet is fine but during high volume times it can take a bit of time to get your buggy back. *the new tower is 21 and older but the two historic towers are both great. So don’t feel like the kids are holding you back. The north tower is a slightly longer walk but less congested. *if you can get a room on the beach-facing side of any of the towers, it’s worth it. Doubly so if you can get one of the two corner rooms on each floor of the two historic towers, as they have a wrap around balcony that is probably 40 feet long. *the best hot tub is at the kids pool. Try at night. *don’t neglect the sunsets, which are often spectacular. Short walk across one of the widest beaches ever to the shore. *I will submit some separate onsite restaurant reviews but in short Kane’s bar is really special for lunch or evening drinks, Quinn’s is always nice and reliable, and San Marco is the best bet for quick breakfast food. We also tried 10K Ally this year and liked it a lot. It has a great game room, but it is totally inside so no view of the beautiful Marco scenery. *for soda addicts, Pazzi’s sells an infinitely refillable mug. We even bring it back year to year. Vacationers beware of the JW Marriott Marco Island AAA Parking valet company.

Jul 20th, 2019

I valet my brand-new SUV with the company name AAA Parking. When they returned my SUV the driver side door was dented. When I brought the finding to the attention of daytime manager, he basically said they would never have caused the damage. I contacted the AAA Parking corporate office and its going on three weeks now and have not heard back from Shirley. She is also claiming their company would have never caused the damage and she wasn't even there. Charles the evening lead person confirmed the vehicle was turned over undamaged before they valeted it. He confirmed the damage was caused by AAA Parking. The rest of the folks working for AAA Parking company are dishonest and don’t care about their customers. Stay away from valeting with AAA Parking at JW Marriott Marco Island. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
