After Christmas Vacation

Jan 2nd, 2021

As a Titanium member... this hotel delivers a solid resort feel. Everyone was very respectful and welcoming from the valet all the way to the pool waiters. Everyone was very attentive during the Covid 19 pandemic. Not sure how people can complain during these crazy times. Be thankful that you can come to a property that at least has a plan to social distant. Could the rooms be updated? Yeah probably but they were still better then most and the bathroom was totally fine. Did people always wear masks? 95% of the time because you always get that 5% of people that don’t follow rules and think they are above rules. Those people can be found everywhere (karma is a you know what). They want to be rebels and if you are reading this and not wear masks around others.... just follow the rules like everyone else. Spa: my wife went to the spa and love it. Let’s remember that this is a hotel and not your home. My family of 5 enjoyed the pool for 3 days (empty after Christmas but got progressively crowded closer to New Years). I can see this property getting mobbed during non Covid times. They offer so much and thankful we came when capacity was low. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just OK

Dec 31st, 2020

We decided last minute to take a trip to Florida over the Christmas break to enjoy some warm weather and sunshine. We initially booked a two queen room with a rollaway which the Marriott online booking allowed us to do after putting in our family of 5. When we called to confirm the rollaway in the room we were told they were unable to accommodate that request due to fire code. They offered us a king room with a tiny pull out and a rollaway which would not have worked. It turns out, you really can’t have 5 people comfortably in either type room because of the size, so we ended up booking two adjoining rooms. Checkin was easy, but when we got to our room one of the door lock batteries was dead. We had to wait 30 minutes after calling several times before we could get into one of our rooms. The rooms are decent, but the showers are very small and one of our towels had mold growing on it. We have 3 kids, so one of the draws of this hotel was the pool and aqua course. The pool is great, but the Aqua course was closed. The website did not make mention of it and it was a big disappointment for us. I’m assuming it was closed to due Covid yet they had an indoor blow up obstacle course, so it didn’t make much sense to me. We went to the outdoor center to see about renting bikes (no kids bikes and you have to be 13 to rent the adult bikes), they no longer have the two and four seater bikes they advertise, we couldn’t use the kayaks because it was too windy they said, no fishing polls you could rent but you can pay $60 per person to fish from the shore with a guide. Their website is very deceiving regarding the activities. The food was pretty good (we are big foodies and food is a high priority for us) but the service wasn’t up to the standard you would expect for a luxury resort. Maybe this is also due to Covid, but it was very disappointing. We are big travelers and typically stay in nice resorts. Overall we were disappointed with this resort which is a bummer because we really wanted to love it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dated hotel, Terrible service

Dec 28th, 2020

We had a terrible experience at this hotel, awful. I fully appreciate we are in the middle of a pandemic and take that into account. The rooms are dated. We stayed in a suite but was disappointed: - hard to find an empty outlet. - big bathroom but single vanity. - tiny shower for such a big bathroom. - terrible water pressure, they changed the shower head which made it better but still awful. - the worst toilet on earth. - bed was comfortable. - dated decor and worn. Service was horrendous, keeping in mind COVID but hotel was only 12% occupancy when we arrived and still short staffed. - took 20-30 minutes to get anyone on the phone every time we called. - didn’t need much housekeeping because of COVID but when we did, wasn’t very good - people were very friendly but just lacking in general. - felt more like a Days Inn in quality of prices and service attentiveness. Beautiful Grand Hotel, Terrible service

Dec 23rd, 2020

We were really disappointed for the price and the hotel is supposed to be 5 stars the service is one of a 3 star hotel. The towels in the bathroom are old, there is no room service. We called to get help booking tickets but we had to “come in person” which never happens in 5 star hotels. The coffee machine and coffee bags are the quality found in cheap cruises the paper coffee cups smell & taste like old soap. I called to ask for housekeeping to come and tend the room in a hour was told to call back in an hour. We were shocked that this is the quality for a JW. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Really Wonderful Stay- Will be my go to in Orlando

Dec 20th, 2020

We stayed for 9 nights and had a really wonderful time. All guests were masked and practicing social distancing. The grounds are absolutely beautiful- with an enormous pool, lazy river, fire pit, lake and 3 tennis courts. Hotel is a short distance from the parks but far enough to be a perfect place for adults. Something to note though is at shuttles are currently not running to Disney due to Covid but all other amenities were available. The staff were wonderful, self parking was easy. We were upgraded to lake view room as we were celebrating our 2 year anniversary. We really had a wonderful stay and whenever I return to Orlando, this will be my go-to hotel . TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
