a bargain in summer

Aug 17th, 2019

it was a cool streak (98f) the week that we were there for a conference (normally 10-15 degrees hotter) this JW is not as upscale as urban city JW hotels large rooms have a southwest flare, with balconies, fridge, and a large bathroom. toiletries are no longer usa-made, but towels are plush. it was 189/night which is a bargain compared to the winter months (more than 2x). our room service meal was very tasty (this is not common for other hotels) several pools to choose from, including the lazy river pools. gym and spa cafe hours were not as conducive to business travelers, but perfect for vacationers. the venue is no centrally located. so plan your uber/lyft... the hotel is clear across town to the airport. tour buses will pick you up en route to Sedona or northbound. there's a complimentary shuttle every hour to the nearby outdoor shopping center a good conference venue. What a Day!

Aug 9th, 2019

Today is my son’s 12th birthday so I booked breakfast at Stonegrill assuming that we could have the buffet (we are staying at the Marriott Canyon Villas adjoining the property and have access to the hotel). We arrived to find that there was no buffet and that the buffet would only be available over the weekend due to occupancy levels. We were disappointed, however, we made no fuss and after deliberating we decided to stay and eat the a la carte breakfast. Wow!! Firstly, the food was phenomenal, pancakes to die for and the breakfast burrito was first class. Then we had some bacon brought over along with sausages all because there was no buffet - such a nice touch along with fantastic attentive service from the team. Then my son was given a cake with his name and happy birthday written on it. Finally, we were then approached by Michael (I believe one of the f&b managers?) who wished my son a happy birthday and then went above and beyond in ensuring that my family and I had a terrific day by the pool. I cannot thank the guys at the Marriott enough for going that extra mile for my son and my family today - truly memorable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful pools & lazy river

Aug 8th, 2019

Pros: Beautiful landscaping and fountains. The lazy river and pools were excellent. Loved the movie by the pool & the s'mores. Food quality was outstanding. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet & the meals at Stonegrill which had excellent service. Free laundry facilities with free supplies. Self-parking made it easy to come and go. Cons: Food service by the pool was erratic. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Awesome Venue for work or play

Attended a recent national conference on the property and couldn’t have been more impressed with the lodging/conference facility and service of the staff. Would recommend for both vacation and business travel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Service

Aug 7th, 2019

We were greeted upon arrival by their attentive and friendly front desk staff. We were asked if we were celebrating anything special and we informed him that it was our 1st wedding anniversary. From that point on we were showered with kindness, a bottle of wine, passes to the adult only pool, and the list goes on. We have a house in the Palm Springs area, but we will be frequenting the JW Desert Ridge from this point on. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
