Nice renovations and updates

Feb 14th, 2020

This Marriott is right off the highway and has recently been renovated. The renovations seem to be finished in the rooms but the lobby is still being worked on. It looks pretty in rooms but the bathroom is lackluster. The location is around other hotels and near the mall plus a lot of chain restaurants. It is not near downtown if this is important to you. Nice Rennovation

Feb 9th, 2020

Nicely renovated property (Note: the renovation is still a work on progress; pool isn’t finished nor is the lobby). The rooms are updated and they’re nice. Stylish and functional. Lots of outlets on the nightstands are a nice touch. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Mixed impression

Jan 20th, 2020

The room appeared renovated; although not quite thought through. The sort of desk space directly faces the TV. While there are variety of intriguing lighting fixtures, there just isnt enough lighting in the room. Loved the big and clean windows! Front desk and lobby are a construction disaster area. Yes, rooms may look OK, but lobby and reception area is part of the stay’s experience and it was not good. I asked if 2 guests with primary guest being platinum can utilize breakfast benefit but consume breakfast at different times. The answer was no and I was offered a worthless 750 points to waive breakfast vouchers alltogether....Nice hospitality twist here... The concierge lounge supposedly exists somewhere, but I wasnt even told where it is, and there is no service on the weekend. Considering hotel’s unattractive state, it may be beneficial to at least try to treat your guests a little better? If the status entitles a guest to a certain benefit, it may not be a bad idea to provide a better “sorry” if the benefit is not available or you are actually unwilling to offer it? I definitely will not return after such a lovely unwelcoming (and very typical of Jacksonville) welcome. Last, but not least, elevators are annoyingly slow. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Hypodermic Needles in Bed

Jan 8th, 2020

I only slept on one side of the bed. After waking up the next morning, I found hypodermic needles under the pillow on the opposite side. This put me in danger, means they never changed the sheets (would have to have found the needles otherwise), and is totally unacceptable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Call me when the towel racks arrive!

Dec 29th, 2019

During our stay the lobby was under renovation but the mess and dust were kept out of view and the staff was helpful and friendly and dealt very well with the temporary dislocations. The newly redesigned room was another matter. Unlike traditional Marriott’s, the room appeared to have been furnished by IKEA. My old college dorm room was more elegant and a great deal more functional. There was no dresser, just a couple of desk drawers. The same nearest the toilet was actually in another room (eww!). And most bizarre was the total lack of any shelf or hooks to stow towels or clothing. There was no towel rack and no place for personal toiletries. It was as if the room was designed for someone who came to the hotel with no belongings. I will be glad to recommend this hotel after these shortcomings are addressed but in the meantime I will look elsewhere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
