Hockey Tournament

Jul 15th, 2019

The room was wonderful! The ice rink couldn't have been located better. The lack of communication and lack of available places to eat was super disappointing. The website showed multiple options, however, it never said anything about restaurants being closed because of the "off season". We were one of over 20 teams there for a long weekend tournament. Left there feeling less than impressed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great until one of the lifeguards called me a vulgar name

Jun 15th, 2019

I brought my grandsons to the water park for my oldest (6 years old) birthday. He went on the water slides until one of the life guards stopped him because he was too short. I asked why since he had gone on at least 10 times without a problem and now it was an issue. She told me he was too short and wasn't allowed. I told her that she was very inconsistent as he has been going down the slides previously without a problem. She radioed her supervisor I assume and all was well. My grand son entered the water slide on a tube and started down the slide when she ran over and grabbed the tube scaring my grandson. So now my grandson is at the opening of the water slide on the downhill side, she is holding the tube and he is struggling to maintain he position of the tube without falling off. I removed her hand as I feared for my grandson's safety at which point she said "Your're a f__cker". Not real good customer service. Bad customer relations. This incident totally ruined our stay. Great hotel / lodge

Jun 4th, 2019

We went for the kids and they loved it. We don't ski so went for the water park and other activities. They really enjoyed the water park. I might suggest that they pass out tubes for the busier days as they had to wait almost 8 minutes for someone to give up a tube so they could do the water slide - many just held on to them and kept going on the slides. My 10 yo enjoyed playing basketball in the water. I enjoyed watching peeps on the Flo rider. Great that they have a bar inside the water park. Food at the resort is mediocre but the staff was fun. Made up for the food. Rooms were comfortable. We didn't get a chance to check out a movie due to the system being down - but be sure to check movie schedules. We may go back and get some skiing lessons next year. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stateside Hotel at Jay Peak

May 24th, 2019

Stayed for 2 nights at Jay Peak resort for a weekend of spring skiing in April. Skiing was pretty good for so late in the season but rain dampened the experience. Can't blame them for that except for the inaccurate local weather forecasts (Chamber of Commerce Rah- Rah, C'mon up! the weather will be fine"). Hotel relatively new but cheaply built, reception staff helpful but indifferent (think "I got stuck in this ski town and now I can't get out"), robotic and not attuned to thinking outside of the box. Pleasant accommodations, clean and comfortable. Need more than one comfortable chair in the rooms. Got booked into an upper parking lot side, ADA room with plenty of grab bars, etc. View out to valley over parking lot was nice. Restaurant dining room/bar, average at best for decor, again wait and hostess staff adequate but not overly courteous. No place to sit outside in the sun to watch the skiers and have a drink, just an average ski lodge indoor bar attached. Best thing about the hotel is it is truly ski in-ski out. Ski lockers right off entrance to slopes very convenient. Worse thing: No hot tub or swimming pool. You have to get a pass for the water park which is a good distance away in another complex. Kind of dumb not having these amenities available for the adults who don't want to have to pack up and head over to what is basically a kids facility. Altogether, an average OK experience. Would probably stay there again now that I know what to expect. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great getaway!

May 13th, 2019

We stayed Friday May 10-11th. I honestly can't wait to go back. The room was clean and comfortable and all though we had a studio it was just enough space for the 4 of us, the little kitchenette we had was nice (no oven). We got there around 9 pm on Friday night the ride there was very dark and windy, we almost hit a deer. We know for the next time it is much nicer to drive during daylight because when we drove home the next day we just couldn't believe how beautiful the area was. Also, we were really excited to hear the Canadian radio stations playing French music. We asked if we could get a late checkout and they let us stay until 12 which was very nice, we then took the kids to the pump house where they had a blast. The food at the foundry was delicious we had breakfast there and we really enjoyed it. The trip was exactly what we needed, wish we could have stayed longer but it was worth it. Also, compared to Great wolf, Camelback, Kalahari - this place has them beat in terms of price, and quality. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
