Great place but lacked certain amenities needed for a family!

Loved the moment we checked in. Felt like paradise, location was great and had everything you need and want within the Royal Lahaina Resort. The only problem I did have was the lack of a microwave! Bought food for my young daughters the night before and could not heat it up the next day. Not even a communal microwave within this beautiful resort -- frustrating since my daughters were both under 4 years old. Aside from that everything else as great. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Sometimes you need to know whom to trust. The staff at the Inn gave me pointers on nice and comfortable places to eat, off the beaten path. It is a great place to wind down and listen to the soft rain in the afternoon. Love the place TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Avoid at all costs

I booked here to celebrate my wife's birthday. Upon arrival the room we were given was humid, and smelled "old" and of mildew. I immediately went to the front desk and advised them of the issues. They moved me to another room which didn't smell as bad but still had many many issues. This room had holes in the walls, stained carpets, wallpaper peeling off the walls. Visible black mold along the roof in the room, shower roof and shower walls and along the AC vents. This time I called my travel agent which got in contact with the hotel and got me a fill refund once I returned the keys and towle vouchers. While I what's on hold with my travel agent I was able to book a room for my stay at the Westin we just checked in and we're extremely happy I'll post a review on the Westin later. Had an ocean-front room on the 3rd floor just steps from the beach. The view was worth much more than we paid. The room was clean and comfortable, but the shower is very small. As others have noted, it's an older hotel that could use some TLC. It seems like some paint could help the entire Royal Lahania property. It's a great location and a good value when you consider you get all the amenities of the RLR... just don't expect the Ritz. You're not paying for it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
It's an older inn one of the original but lots of amenities

So, I was a little nervous because of the low reviews here. Expedia has higher reviews and that's where I booked our stay thru. The rooms are older but clean. Make sure you do NOT get southwest side that is where Luau is. We were on Northside and never heard it at night. We had an amazing view from our room on the 3rd floor. It felt more private that the 12 story Royal Kaanapali resort. The beach access was close and pools were nice. At the resort we rented a cabana one day for $50 and there was hut right up the steps where we could get drinks and food. Someone brought us pitcher of water too, just as courtesy. The last day we had a few issues w room service and extremely loud neighbors and Goergia was VERY helpful and even gave us a $50 credit, which I was not expecting. There is a coffee place that we went to every morning that was reasonably priced and Brooke was very nice. We left on the 4th and I saw Flora with a red/white/blue lei and asked where I could get one and she gave me the one she was carrying. Again rooms are older but if you can look pasted that the people and amenities are amazing!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
