We stayed at this hotel during the week of New Years Day. It has a great location near public transportation, Little Tokyo, and right in the midst of the New Years non-alcoholic block party. The rooms were clean and surprisingly quiet. It was definitely not a luxurious hotel, but served our purpose. We took the rail to the Coliseum, Rose Bowl Parade, Trader Joes, and other shopping areas near Downtown LA. The area seemed safe, as well towards the outskirts of Downtown LA. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Decent 2-star hotel
Feb 1st, 2020
We had a queen bed room on the 4th floor. Hotel is safe, clean, basic. The room was updated recently and is small but serviceable. It didn't feel cramped. Noise was a factor due to ongoing construction (24hrs one night) in the area and road noise but ear plugs solve that problem if necessary. The location is great. A block from Grand Central Market, the Broad, the MOCA, etc. Easy access to the metro. Walking distance from all the sights downtown. Staff was friendly and helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Paper thin walls

Kawada is conveniently located and clean. The staff are friendly, but rooms are small, bedding is minimal, and the walls are paper thin. After listening to the room next door most the night, we canceled and moved hotel after the first night. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great location downtown LA
Jan 27th, 2020
Located downtown LA close to the Grand Central Market and a short walk to many theaters as well as shopping. If size matters the room was small but very clean and priced right. I did have a little issue with the hot water in the shower coming and going. It made me think I was at home and someone flushed the toilet lol. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Lunch with interstate visitors
Jan 2nd, 2020
The busiest period of year usually means many customers. Obviously the management didn't account for this. One staff member (wonderful) two tills and hundreds of people wanting to order. So frustrating when the meals weren't worth waiting for. Embarrassed to bring friends and family to such a beautiful spot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
