The only good thing is the staff

Feb 26th, 2020

The Key Bridge Marriott is a dump. There is no other way to put it. It is a complete embarrassment to Marriott. Ideally, the hotel should be closed and completely rebuilt. If not, it should be re-flagged from Marriott because it is far below the standards of 2020. Furniture is broken, scratched or otherwise damaged. Drop ceiling in the bathroom looks 20-year-old. The shower fixtures look straight out of the 1980s or 1990s. Some elevator switches don't light up. The building exterior is dilapidated. The lobby and bar look unchanged since maybe 2008, whenever it received the last renovation. The concierge lounge on the 12th floor is small and overcrowded, but the food is good. Staff are excellent. They do the best they can do. Housekeepers keep rooms clean. But they can only do so much with such a horrible product. Managers seem to spend most of their time apologizing to guests and giving points as compensation. Supposedly an extensive renovation is coming but it is probably 10 years too late. Just tear the building down and start anew. It literally needs that much work. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fake Marriott

Feb 16th, 2020

Terrible experience. I paid for a room with a “partial view”. Ended up with one directly over the high voltage HVAC equipment, so I only had a view of that and other rooms on the other side of the hotel. (The voltage this systems put out is dangerous to human health IMO and I really didn’t appreciate being given this room. Its proper function is as a storage closet. It was on the 4th floor - 466, I think.) The rooms here are relatively small, especially for a Marriott. I will say that the room was clean. I went looking for the guest book in the room that explains the hotel amenities. Real Marriotts have them. There wasn’t one because the hotel really doesn’t offer any amenities. I called the desk and asked - no shuttle service. The closest Metro stop is a half mile away and you have to traverse steep hills. With luggage, it’s a real pain in the butt. Also, the hotel is in an isolated area separated from the rest of Rosslyn by a highway and park. It’s not a safe walk after an evening show from the Metro to the hotel when the streets are pretty empty except for homeless people. The lobby was usually packed with tourists from out of town who looked like they didn’t know any better. Most of the hotels in Rosslyn that I’ve stayed in are pretty terrible. This fake Marriott is better than the Holiday Inn at Key Bridge, but Crystal City in Arlington has better hotels and safer Metro access. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good hotel. Good service. Good location

A bit of a dodgy start at check in but soon got the ambassador upgrade which translated into a wonderful room overlooking Georgetown. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom dreadfully small. Executive lounge was lovely with a great breakfast. Eggs were good. And they found glueten free toast! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Titanium Elite doesn’t mean much

Jan 19th, 2020

This is a photo from my room when the hotel was empty so an upgrade to ANY view would not have been a challenge ... Honestly two days staring at a wall has colored the experience so I won’t say much more. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Another pleasant stay!

Jan 6th, 2020

I just completed an overnight stay at the Key Bridge Marriott and had another nice experience. My Titanium Elite status was recognized at check-in, leading to an upgrade to a Club level room. The Club on the 12th floor is quite nice, with a nice breakfast spread and evening snacks on most days (closed on weekends). The room was cozy with modern amenities. I'll stay here again!
