Artsy comfy hotel in the heart of downtown Portland

Feb 20th, 2020

Artsy comfy hotel in the heart of downtown Portland. Highlights: - Cool living room lobby: couches, a fireplace, and games like giants scrabble, chess, and batgamon. Warm colors and welcoming cozy feel. Kind of Alice in Wonderland meets Professor Plum. - Location: a 10 min walk to famous donuts and bunches of food carts - Unique decor: a bit all over the place in our room from birds on the wallpaper to geometric patterned chairs. - Huge room: had 2 queens plus a sliding door to separate the living room. - Friendly staff: at check in, wine hour, and at the door. - Wine hour: similar to most Kimptons daily from 5-6 but this one was complete with a live solo musician and the addition of hot apple cider (with a spiking option) - Attached restaurant and bar: easy access to nightcaps to bring to our room Lowlights: - They tempt you with $6 bottles of water in your room and have to pay for snacks out. Loved this hotel and would definitely come back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Valet Service

Feb 19th, 2020

Andrew and Max with the valet service were kind, informative, and had a great vibe. They genuinely made my stay at the Hotel better and gave the city of Portland a good representative. I will be back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Weekend, Great Hotel

Feb 11th, 2020

Everyone at the hotel was friendly and attentive. My boyfriend and I enjoyed the wine tasting down in the lobby. We would highly recommend any of our friends to stay here. The luggage service was great, when we forgot something in our car, the valet man was nice enough to go grab it. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very nice for small business meeting and bringing spouse

Feb 8th, 2020

This hotel, built in 1912, is on the register of historic places. It has been thoroughly renovated, and has an eclectic decor. My wife and I drove from Seattle so I could attend a small medical meeting. Her toy poodle was welcomed like family. She enjoyed the room, dining, and lobby while I enjoyed lovely buffet lunch and dinner at our meeting. It's right downtown within walking distance of many attractions, and has free bicycles you may borrow. Parking is available under the hotel for $25 per night for guests. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Love this hotel

Feb 6th, 2020

I recently had an eye surgery that required a one night stay in Portland, Or. We had stayed at the Monaco before but not for a long time as we are Marriott owners and have tried to maintain loyalty there, until recently that is. Being a little disappointed with the last couple of stays we decided to try The Monaco again. They knew ahead the reason for our stay and allowed us to check in early. They also left a get well note with some cookies. I love the decor of this hotel but was unable to take pictures because of my eye not functioning. The room was very clean & comfortable, especially the bed. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who appreciates the extra touch when traveling. Really lovely. We will be going back TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
