I was there for the terrible construction - still a great Kimpton hotel
Jul 19th, 2019
I stayed three nights at the Ink48 this week. On the third night, they kindly moved me to a smaller room at the back of the hotel away from the loud construction. Of course, it is not their fault that a building is going in across the street. The jackhammers start at 7 AM...and on the first day, I was up at 6, so it was OK, but the second day I didn't have to be up early so it was a little frustrating. Kudos to the hotel for moving me during a busy time. The staff is very friendly and helpful, which is why I am a Kimpton fan. I find the staff at the Press restaurant to be a little less "Kimpton like" in that I don't think the customer service is at the same level of the Kimpton staff. The rooms are comfortable and this time I used the services of the spa, which I really liked and would go back to. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was extremely surprised by how big the rooms at this hotel were and the service. They are extremely pet friendly. I found the hotel to be very clean and the rooms as well. I will definitely stay at this hotel again. I am def a fan on the Kimpton line now. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Let me start off by saying that I booked this hotel as a friend was staying here for the same event we were attending in the area. I was quite hesitant due to the reviews and I always read the Tripadvisor reviews. As the day came closer to our event and I continued to read the reviews, I was worried. I also know that some reviews come from people who are just never satisfied. With that being said... We were greeted at the entrance by Jose'. A true gentleman who answered many of my questions. Upon check-in I was informed that our room was not ready even though I had requested early check-in. Which I also know is never a guarantee. The young lady offered to text me when the room became available. Had not heard from her by 2:45 so we headed back from the Gotham Marketplace where we went for a bite to eat. Room became available as we were standing at counter waiting. I would also like to say that she (I neglected to get her name) was very pleasant. Our room the "Hudson Suite" was excellent. We did not have bathrobes (included in room). But after a phone call, the bathrobles arrived promptly. We were able to utilize both Print and the Press Lounge, I highly reccomend both of them! Be aware that the Press Lounge is often closed for private events, so check ahead of time. Upon check-out the following morning we were once again greeted by same young lady. She asked how our stay was. My reply, the property is lovely, room and staff were great all around. BUT...it is true, the noise that began early in the morning due to construction is HORRIBLE! Reviews and comments from management had stated that it was soon to be over. It is not near done so be aware of the noise. Other than that, fabulous property! And honestly, the hotel/management has no control over construction in the area. I look forward to returning in the future TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Excellent hotel stay for our anniversary, and great customer service!

This hotel is by far the nicest hotel stay we had in New York. It’s newly renovated, very clean and modern, yet charming. It has a boutique vibe and a personal touch you don’t get in the big hotels. Truly happy we had chosen to stay at Kimpton Ink48 for our 1-year wedding annivarsary. Our flight got cancelled and we ended up getting there two days later than planned, but they changed our reservation and was very accommodating and serviceminded! They also surprised us a sparkling wine and strawberries. The room service food from Print restaurant was very good, and we feel that we have found a new retreat in New York. Far enough away from the main tourist drag, but close to all the restaurant in Hells Kitchen and an easy walk to Times Square. The location is also excellent if you arrive at Newark airport, and want an easy commute to the hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed 2 nights in July....Very clean hotel; good coffee, tea and condiments choices in lobby; room was very quiet except for a little road noise late at night, compfortable beds/pillows, should have at least 1 sitting chair in guestrooms ....excellent rooftop sunset views ......hotel restaurant menu looked good and reasonable priced...but did not get opportunity to try it out this time...
