Wonderful stay in Milwaukee

Dec 28th, 2019

I worked with Allyson S in Sales for a group block for my wedding and she went above and beyond for me and my guests. She made it easy and stress free for me and my fiancé to organize a place for our friends and family to stay. The roof top bar is a must even if you are not an overnight guest! Such a cool, cozy atmosphere. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Good Location, nice rooftop lounge.

Dec 23rd, 2019

The Kimpton is in a good location. Walking distance to the Public market and many shops. Room was clean and quiet but did have a strong smell of weed coming from adjacent room. The Valet was quick and courteous as well as the doorman and desk staff. There is a really nice rooftop lounge but service was slow and down to only 1 bartender when we were there. Did not have a chance to eat there but there is an attached restaurant. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Strong Option to Consider

Dec 7th, 2019

I had never stayed at a Kimpton property, so booked this out of curiosity and had a competitive rate. The hotel was nicely appointed, the location seemed good, my room was clean and quiet. One quirk was that I checked in around midnight and was tired walking into the room when I had a fright, as out of the corner of my eye there was a dog...turned out it was a small statue of a hound and a dog bowl. Good news for some is that they are apparently cool with pets, but it was an unexpected sight, especially when exhausted. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great place

Dec 5th, 2019

I visited the Kimpton to grab drinks on the rooftop and the view was the best in Milwaukee. The atmosphere was fantastic but the service could have used improvement and so could the beer list as it only had a small selection. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Noise Ordinance?

Nov 15th, 2019

I decided on this hotel outside of what was recommended by Fencing tournament organizers because while we enjoy traveling for fencing tournaments we like to explore the city as well. After check-in, everything went downhill. The bellhop brought my son's huge golf size bag and a checked-in luggage right next to us by the registration desk. I was given the key and the room # but the luggage never came until I had to call for it (and they had no idea which one). The room was a little dirty, we reserved the king spa (one that came with the big tub) and behind the tub were hair and just dirt. We weren't going to use the tub so I just tried to stay away from it. There were 3 containers in the shower/tub area (labeled shampoo, conditioner and bath wash), they are supposed to get refilled. The bath wash was empty so is the small body lotion container on the sink counter. They were never replenished (luckily I brought lotion with me) and trash was never picked up during my 4 days/3 night stay. No turn down service, no slippers but there are 2 old looking robes. I had requested extra pillows on my IHG Rewards account setting, no extra pillows in the room. BUT THE WORSE PART IS THIS ... Monday morning at 5:15am, I began to hear loud banging noises, noises that somewhat made our room vibrate which made me think someone was jumping up and down right above our room. I tried to ignore it for 15 minutes but the noise became even more persistent so I called the front desk at 5:30ish. It turned out that the noise was coming from the gym right below us. There were men in there working out and throwing their weights on the floor which caused the noise and vibration. Mind you, my son and I was trying to acclimate to central time from pst and later that morning he had the fencing tournament. Miranda informed me that they would ask them to quiet down. I certainly don't know why they couldn't get them to stop (isn't there noise ordinance in the city of Milwaukee??) She offered to provide breakfast that morning or lunch (but we had to be at the tournament -- no offer of dinner, which would've worked out). The noise continued on, not as frequent but perhaps it was cut down to one per minute. The next day we checked out at 5:30 am for an early morning flight. We dragged our luggages downstairs and the valet guy was inside the lobby, gave me my keys and asked for the valet tag. I gave him the tag along with a $5 tip. He never came out of the lobby and watched us load our luggages in the snow. I also paid $36 a day to valet my rental. For the amount of money I paid per night for this hotel, I could've stayed closer to the tournament location and just Uber'd to the historical location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
