Average hotel

Mar 22nd, 2020

I can't believe these 4/5 star reviews and I fell in the same trap reading them and booked at this hotel. First off, $40 resort fee for a hotel that is not a resort by any stretch of imagination is ridiculous! They have this tiny pool with messy area! Also the room felt like $100/$150 a night when they charged us almost $400. When we booked over the phone we reserved for a room and breakfast package but upon arrival they mentioned breakfast won't be included and they charged us additionally for that too. Poor communication, average service and quality overall. Don't recommend. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful boutique Palm Springs hotel!

Mar 21st, 2020

Gorgeous property, stayed there with some friends for part of our girls trip. Great location, beautiful architecture and design. Did not have a chance to go the restaurant on property but did enjoy the rooftop pool area. Housekeeping was definitely not up to par for a couple of our rooms. One of the girls wasn't feeling well after flying in and stayed in the room to sleep. Apparently someone came into the room, disregarded the DND sign on the door...didn’t knock, walked into the room, realized someone was in there and then left without saying anything...front desk hadn't sent anyone up. I had to call housekeeping after the room was “cleaned” because they didn't clean the floor which was noticeably dirty after all the girls had cheese and crackers in my room after we got back to the hotel. Disappointed

Mar 8th, 2020

Disappointing stay. Stayed on Jan 18 to Jan 20, 2020 and the rooms were $500+ each day. However, it did not feel like that at all. Pros: 1. Free coffee in the morning before 9AM. 2. The hotel helped me get some bandaids when I had a scratch Cons: 1. Free coffee ends too early in my opinion and the hotel just seems cheap to not offer coffee a little bit later so they can sell them for $4 a cup at their own cafe. 2. There is no free breakfast for IHG Spire Elites (highest in IHG Elite levels) 3. The room that I got on the 2nd floor facing the Palm Spring Babies' road was VERY noisy. It had street traffic noise most of the day. 4. The room I got was also above a cycling studio and every time there is a class going on. I get free noisy music in the room. 5. No coffee brewer in the room 6. Rooftop pool was a joke. I didn't see anyone in the tiny pool during my stay (it was very cold) and the view is just okay. Worst of all is that I wrote to the hotel about the problems after the trip but never got a response. Due to too many issues and the expensive price, I would not recommend this property if you are in Palm Springs. There are quite a few other major hotel chains in this area and I will look into those next time. I have paid hundreds of dollars per night before for hotel stays but the value just isn't here at all for Kimpton Rowan. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stylish, clean, and comfortable hotel right in the middle of downtown Palm Springs

Mar 7th, 2020

We stayed one night at this hotel on the way to Joshua Tree NP, but wished it could have been longer! The hotel has a nice updated mid-century modern inspired style that looks great but also isn't trying too hard. The hotel was spotless and our room was very comfortable (the bed and pillows were great), with nice high ceilings and plenty of space to move around, store things, etc. Towels were nice and fluffy but the provided robes were a bit threadbare with some small holes. Staff throughout the property was very friendly and the pool area is absolutely gorgeous, overlooking beautiful mountains on both sides (and downtown on one), with lots of comfortable and nice looking lounge chairs, a poolside bar, complementary Sun Bum sunscreen, ice water, etc. The restaurants in the hotel come highly recommended but we didn't get a chance to try them. The biggest con is the $40/day resort fee, although this does at least include free valet parking. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Hotel

Mar 6th, 2020

Our first visit to Palm Springs. Chose Rowan from other reviews and picture gallery. Could not have chosen a better place. Beautiful architecture and furnishings. Location the best for walking almost anywhere downtown. The outdoor breakfasts were great for people watching. All the hotel staff we came in contact with were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and very quiet. The view of the mountains from our suite was breathtaking. The wall of windows made us feel that we could reach out and touch them. We will definitely return to Palm Springs and will return to the Rowan. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
