Wonderful solo visit

This resort deserves its five diamond status. The service was impeccable from beginning to end. I did not want or need for anything because they have it all. The hotel itself is beautifully constructed and thoughtfully designed for the enjoyment of their guests. The overall environment was both pleasant and relaxing to be in. I left the resort with wonderful memories and positive feelings. The food was mostly excellent at Coccoloba bar and the beach service was excellent. I personally enjoyed Ave restaurant so much that I never experienced the Spanish restaurant option. The service is awesome and the seafood dishes delicious. I especially recommend the Wahoo starter which was a highlight for me. The staff are all awesome and friendly at the resort and I was made to feel welcome at all times. Thank you for a wonderful stay and likely not my last! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Best on island

The room was spacious, modern and comfortable. The property was nicely maintained. The service was excellent throughout. I found the self-parking to be very inconvenient to the hotel property. The TV offered a limited number of channels, and it did not have a program guide, so one needed to flip all channels to find programs. The on-property restaurants were nice, and the food was good, but I expected better. I had issues with the spa service, but the hotel was generous enough to accommodate for those problems. Great Hotel, but not tranquil.

This is a 5 star hotel for the service, rooms, food, beach and facilities. The only negative, and it’s a big one for couples, is that the resort was full of kids when we visited. We literally didn’t spend anytime by the pool due the the noise. Still a 5 star rating, but be aware it’s not very relaxing if you are looking for a romantic getaway. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Kimpton Seafire is NOT a tourist friendly resort
Dec 7th, 2019
We came here in December for an entire week, and had booked a suite. The entire experience was very below any expectations. Almost every day there was a CONFERENCE hosted at the Kimpton, who occupied half the beachfront or green space at the hotel with private events. At the same time, there were only two events for regular guests the entire week. Throughout the entire night you can hear the NOISE from parties thrown by conference guests from the privacy of your own balcony. This is NOT a resort and spa. This is a conference hotel. STAFF - the staff is very nice and kind, they just haven’t received the proper training. Our room came with a concierge, who failed to inform us us specials and events they have at the hotel (live music night, paella night). These also weren’t posted anywhere on the property. They just don’t care about regular guests, only group conference bookings. The reception staff and bell staff failed to inform us of how Cayman taxis work (there’s an app that quotes you the price you pay) and the common practice of Cayman taxis ripping people off before booking us a cab. When we complained about it when we came back we were told that it’s a 3rd party service and it’s not their fault, bye. The manager eventually came trough and wrote us a note and credited our account. SPA - they have NO male staff at the spa front desk, so when you’re butt naked in the men’s locker room you’ll be surprised by female staff giving other male guests a tour of the lockers. I’ve never encountered this anywhere else in the world. The beach and water are absolutely beautiful but that’s nothing to do with the Kimpton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
This is NOT a RESORT, it’s a conference and private event ONLY hotel
Dec 7th, 2019
This is our first trip to the Grand Cayman, and now it’s Day 6, we are leaving tomorrow, and in short, we will NEVER return to Kimpton Seafire. Almost every night, there’re at least one or two private events for conference people (and they are all different conferences) taking over the entire beach front. NOTHING entertaining for the regular guests like us, and NOWHERE to even hide from the noise because it’s direct in front of our room. Almost every night we called and asked the front desk if there were any entertainments available onsite, the answer was basically NO. They MAXIMIZED the $ profit by accepting and organizing conferences after conferences, but yet they call themselves a “resort and spa” where everywhere else I had stayed really meant a “relaxing and peaceful place”, but here it really means squeezing yourself among conferences and figuring out what the heck you’d do to entertain yourself with very little space left for regular guests onsite. I attached a picture of the TWO different conference events right under my balcony tonight, I can hear clearly the conversations and high pitch laughters which of course, are all “private” :-) The water and beach front during the day are pretty nice tho, but that’s nothing to do with the hotel itself, it’s just a gift of Cayman’s, and if were not for that, I’d give this experience a “Terrible” score. And oh, the hotel front desk and valet boys had no problems with taxi drivers scamming first time island visitors (which was apparently a known thing that taxi drivers here carry a bad reputation).
