Wonderful Hotel and Staff
Aug 22nd, 2019
My adult daughter and I came to the Caymans for a scuba diving trip. We loved the hotel and the staff. Our room was beautiful, clean and had a great ocean view. The staff was particularly lovely... from the beach staff, cleaning staff, to the front desk, etc. They went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. There is an upscale vibe to the hotel, but it is also very relaxed and Zen. The yoga was awesome and it was great to have the dive facilities right on the property. I have to admit that I am very picky about where I stay (usually 4 Seasons, Ritz, etc.) and I must say the Kimpton line of hotels is going to be my new go to hotel globally. The restaurants at the hotel get booked up, so best to make reservations. Don't sit outside....too buggy. I understand this is with the entire island, not just the Seafire. Bacaro is a yummy restaurant to try off campus. I will definitely be coming back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stayed 8/15 to 8/19. Management is to be commended because every contact we had with any resort staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. Of note, besides the room charge there is a $70 per day resort charge for wifi, water toys etc. What I did not realize is there is a 10% gratuity charge per day also. Im assuming that is for the pool staff, room cleaning, valet staff etc. Had I know that I wouldn't have been tipping extra for these things. Not that its a big deal just wish I would have realized up front. Beach is beautiful and check out Calico Jacks next door at night for some music and drinks. Seems to be a spot where the locals go as well. Food in resort is expensive but decent. My suggestion would be to rent a car and checkout some local places such as Bacaro, Luca for dinner and Laurens and Coconut Joes for breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Perfect family vacay

Enjoyed everything about the Kimpton. Same quality as Ritz (been there twice and loved it) Smaller footprint. Cozy and inviting. Very modern yet still beachy. My only complaint was too many mosquitos. We actually had to walk out of their beachfront restaurant because of the volume of the pesky critters. They provided people with bug spray but then clouds of chemicals from others were covering our food. I heard later that the problem was island wide so this is not aimed directly at the resort. Great beach area. Enjoyed taking my 11yr. Old jet skiing. Otherwise a great trip. Next trip to GC will be at the Kimpton. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We visited the highly recommended Ave restaurant for our first night on the island. We were immediately greeted by the friendliest staff. Caitlin greeted us and helped us to a seat at the bar. We were very entertained by the friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. Pato whipped up some amazing cocktails along with great conversation and recommendations for our stay. Thank you Pato!! The gnocchi pasta was to die for. We will definitely be back!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We loved this resort! The rooms are perfect with big bathrooms and beautiful views. Make sure you ask for an ocean view room. The beach is nice with beautiful water....beach staff are great as well. Everyone on staff is very accommodating and looks to go above and beyond. We will definitely be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
