A little disappointed

Recently returned to Kimpton spa for a little family breakaway. Went to Kimpton spa 3 years ago, before the IHG takeover and you can see the difference! When owned by Kimpton it was a first class operation, hence why I have only given a 3 instead of last time a 5! Now don’t get me wrong the hotel is still clean but the finer points from 3 years ago are missing. I understand a transition period is happening but you had a working system! Here is some examples: You go away to a 4 star and pay 4 star money! The toilet paper was nearly empty and wasn’t changed! I’m talking 5 sheets left! Yes there was a spare but cmon change it! Face cloths wasn’t left ,we had to call up and wait for an hour or so. For the ladies the little accessories never got replenished when used! These things shouldn’t happen in a 4 star. Buy rooms are clean. Staff at desk are great. Very pleasant and helpful. Valet guys great. Loved Carlos. Super friendly. And your star on the beach is the young lady from California. She works and works! The day she want on beach working we had to go find someone! In the end we saw our California lady by the pool and she helped us as our guy at beach was M.I.A! She is your gem!!! Now there was an incident at bar area which left my wife so angry! An elderly guy slipped in restrooms by bar area. His wife called for help, another young lady working, shouted for help from the bartender and our M.I.A beach server. Neither rushed to help! They carried on there conversation. I had a visitor helped lift the gentleman to the bar area, so he could be assessed. Whilst waiting for our food, I guess a manager came. I was a little shocked that when the wheel chair came I was asked if I could help! Not only had I just help lift up the gentleman whilst no help from bartender or M.I.A guy. But we’re both still there! Not very professional to ask a patron while staff are there! Last time we came to Kimpton , we was left with that WOW factor and knew we would return. But under the IHG ownership there was NO WOW factor and unless things change we won’t be in a rush to return. It’s a beautiful location and a clean hotel but things have slipped! It was noticeable. Sorry guys, 3 is for front desk,carlos(valet) and Miss California! No 5 rating this time. Hopefully one day we may return but no time soon as can not pay those price and hope IHG has got that Kimpton WOW back. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic Location with Ammenities

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Kimpton Vero Beach. Great location with a comfy bed. The evening wine tasting are an added bonus. You have to try the French toast for breakfast. Also, the valet service is very convenient. We will definitely be back with the family to enjoy the room with a full kitchen. See you soon Kimpton! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great local hotel!

Big compliments and kudos to the front desk staff Adam and Carly- they went the extra mile to make sure our stay was fantastic. We loved this boutique hotel- there was great customer service at Valet, beach, pool, and restaurants. We will be back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Bug bites from room 325b

NEVER would I ever stay here again … I stayed one night in room 325 b and woke up in the morning with 15 bed bug bites. Hotel says they had someone check but please see other customer complaints … they have bedbugs or something in their rooms that are biting their customers and all they do is say "sorry" . Run from this hotel. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

CHECK YOUR CHARGES AFTER CHECKOUT

Extremely disappointed with this hotel. I am a Gold IHG rewards member. I booked a stay for my parents for their anniversary and fathers day about two weeks prior to their stay. Booking was paid with points and cash. Five days before their stay I logged into my IHG account to book a new unrelated stay only to see I had 60k+ points returned to my account. I was confused because their room was booked with those points. I double check my email and no cancellation email, no voice mail, no text - nothing! I call the hotel and they're asking me to pay $400+ for the night because the rewards night is no longer available AND they had no information as to why my booking was canceled or why I was never notified. Ridiculous. I was basically furious at the idea that my parents would've driven hours to the hotel, show up to NO reservation on their anniversary and fathers day weekend! And no one I spoke to really cared... I call IHG directly and after speaking to 3 different people I was able to get some help, on and off of hold for over 40min but at least they were able to get my reservation back on with the Points that were kicked back into my account.... And they were (what I thought was nice of them) "complimentary" joined their reservation of an extra night they booked. I should've known better after seeing how messy they were with this reservation and reading reviews on unexpected fees. Upon checkout my parents were given a short invoice with only one incorrect charge being an ADDITIONAL charge for joining reservations. My parents paid the fee - they just wanted to get home at this point! Well, a few days later their bank notifies them of a CHARGE for the stay I ALREADY paid with in points PLUS some extra resort fees and a water they never consumed. Upon contacting the hotel on the fees, no details were provided from the hotel as to why they were charging so many things... My mom spoke to them, I spoke to them and finally 3 days after my mom (luckily) noticed the charges they began to refund her. Or so we thought... nothing posted and I contacted the hotel, they were confused as to what I was talking about, but after a detailed exploitation they assured me the extra night will be refunded. Seven days later we were finally refunded... Basically - check you account. They are quick to charge you but not quick to refund so even after you're assured of a refund ensure the refund was posted. Overall hotel is nicely maintained for how old it its. But the food and drinks are overpriced mainly for the quality of food. Underwhelming for the price and all the add on resort and valet only fees. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
