Holiday Inn with lipstick..

Where to start they really let this place go. All the rooms have issues, multiple cabinets were Brocken, door latch was coming out of wall, light fixtures coming off the walls, wallpaper coming off walls etc.... try Costa instead. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Super Relaxing and high end without feeling stuffy!

Sep 23rd, 2020

We loved our stay at Kimpton Vero Beach. The small things like daily texts, pool staff who help set up your beach chairs and towels (on the beach and at the pool), masks and sanitizer readily available at every corner, and the bartenders remembering guests each day absolutely made our visit. We were looking for a relaxing place where we could enjoy a hotel and it's amenities without losing the feeling of a beach resort (aka...not stuffy). Kimpton Vero Beach was definitely that place. We also were celebrating my husband's 50th birthday and the staff was super sweet to leave us a birthday treat in our room the first night. I was a little nervous as I saw a few reviews that mentioned the staff was nice but they were not happy with the rooms, especially those that said they wanted to have an ocean front room. The staff was not just nice, they were exceptional. When we asked for an ocean front room they were very clear that the room available was not a direct ocean front room, but faced the courtyard and you could still see the ocean. We were happy with that and loved our room. Just check out the pictures! They were also great about letting us know tips and local restaurants if we didn't want to eat at the hotel. We actually loved the hotel so much we only strayed away on one night. The happy hour and Taco Tuesday at Heaton's was enough for us! If you are a couple or a group of friends looking for a great break away, I would definitely recommend this hotel! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Clean, classic and great location

The staff is professional, Charlie the bartender is friendly and makes an awesome margarita. Food is good and the room and all areas are very clean. Following all guidelines for COVID. Our favorite FL staycation spot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Initially planned on 2 nights but stayed for 5

Sep 22nd, 2020

The hotel is far superior to others in the area. We originally looked to stay two nights, but extended the stay. The price that comes with being the best in the area is not cheap, but the level of service from staff and cleanliness of rooms were top notch. The room itself was somewhat average, but had a great mattress. The bathroom was spectacular, almost half the size of the sleeping room. It was nice to have a fridge, microwave, and little balcony overlooking some financial institutions. The only issue with this room was not being able to see the tv from the bed. The beach is terrific and great the staff there was great as well. This hotel really makes for a leisurely vacation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice Hotel with Some Things Left to be Desired

Sep 17th, 2020

Overall, this is a nice hotel with a few rough edges. The good: Great tropical landscaping throughout, excellent location on the beach and walking distance to shops and restaurants in town, and friendly staff. We had some special requests like a baby crib and an additional refrigerator for the room, and these requests were quickly and graciously met. They have a lovely hot tub with a nice artificial waterfall which is tucked behind the pool. The hot tub appears to be overlooked by most guests, making it a serene oasis in our experience. The not so good: If you have come to expect certain things from Kimpton like spacious lobbies and common areas, modern decor with vivid colors splashed throughout, and proactive, service-oriented staff anticipating your every want or need, you’ll be disappointed. The Kimpton Seafire this is not. To expound: The lobby is smallish and dark. The pool is on the small side and the area feels cramped as it is situated between the south side of the hotel and the southern property line. Beach chairs, umbrella, and towel service is included for all guests, which is nice, but for a holiday weekend they had one guy covering the entire beach and the pool to provide this service. Meaning there was not only waiting involved, but we repeatedly had to go to the pool to find someone to set us up on the beach. Separately, but relatedly, the towel stand was frequently bereft of fresh towels. Covid-related comments: The staff and guests were big on Covid protocols. To the point that they discontinued daily maid service, with no option to “opt in.” What we found contradictory was that while they won’t send a maid into your room, they continue to hold fast to their “valet only” parking policy. So they won’t send a maid into their guest’s rooms due to Covid, but they do insist on sending their people into my car? How does that work. And it’s not like these valets are parking the cars blocks away and doing wind sprints between the car and the hotel. It appeared, without exception, that the cars were being parked either mere steps from the Porto cochere, or otherwise only slightly further from the lobby in the on-site garage. Despite this, we were outright refused when we sought to self park on site due to Covid. Room: Was not very clean. Fairly large “dust bunnies” under the bed, among other things. Would have expected better. We didn’t raise the issue with the hotel because we were not confident that a room change would result in an improvement, but it would have been a hassle for us. Aside from that, the room was well appointed and the spacious balcony was appreciated. Restaurants: I reviewed these separately, but suffice it to say service is slow at best at both Heaton’s and Cobalt, though the latter did well at breakfast. Bottom line: It’s a nice place for a beach vacation, and we enjoyed ourselves. However our expectations of the Kimpton brand as a whole were not fulfilled on multiple fronts. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
