Had a great 3 night stay!!

Very clean room & was offered at a very affordable rate for a recent 3 night stay. Hotel staff was very friendly & Jessica is a wonderful, friendly, excellent hotel manager who assisted me with the hotel stay. David Smith Dallas,TX. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Stay AWAY from breakfast

I travel a lot and I like to stay in different hotels just for the variety of it. It was my first stay at the OYO chain. Pros: It's quiet. I was worried about seeing this big gap underneath the door transmitting sound, but I left the aircon on "fan" and didn't hear a thing on the 2nd floor right next to the staircase. The location is okay - close to eateries and to Love. Cons: Breakfast is so terrible it hurts. Breakfast consists of two serving trays - lift the lid on the first one and it's lukewarm scrambled eggs on one side and bits of potato on the other side. I've never tasted such horrible eggs in my entire life. Soooooo salty! Open the lid on the other tray and it's the same tasteless potato bits. Bread tray consists of ... just toast. Jiuce machine was broken. The printer and the computer were broken. Elevator was broken. Complained about salty eggs to the attendent. Came back next day... it's like going swimming in the ocean and accidentally gulped a mouthful of seawater. Arrrraaaaa I was drowning but managed to resuscitate myself. 3rd day - went out for breakfast. This is clearly a property that's been neglected. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Low budget risks problems

Computer at first location was down, required relocation. Communications were poor, and ended up being overcharged, took 44 days for refund. 1st room was supposed to be no smoking, but smoke got worse throughout the night, and had to change rooms the next day. Was given key without knowledge someone was still in the room. Bed was slightly inclined, sink counter was dirty, there was dust on the mirror frame and in the exhaust fan. Part of building was deteriorating. Cracked and rusty tub was covered with plastic mat. Besides that, personnel were friendly. Overall poor experience. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

The worst hotel I've stayed at in Dallas. Ever. Yes, Ever.

I'm presently staying at the Oyo (formerly Townhouse Dallas), and here's a summary of the sh*tshow so far: -Along with half a dozen others in line, I waited a full 45 minutes just to get checked in. The hotel ownership apparently thinks it's okay to have a single person on staff to check in their guests. She was friendly enough, but clearly overwhelmed and completely unsupported by the hotel ownership. -The first room I was checked into hadn't been cleaned *at all* by housekeeping... as in, housekeeping just gave up on their workload and left dirty/disgusting rooms. -After waiting another 20 minutes, and multiple phone calls to the overwhelmed front desk lady, to get checked into another room, I was moved to a room that was "unoccupied" but still utterly disgusting. Strange stains on the floor, a bed that was just barely made, and--on a 25 degree night--a heater that was completely non-functional. -Despite my persistence and 60+ minutes it took to get from the front desk into my room, not having a functioning heater on a subfreezing night turned out to be the showstopper. There's apparently no maintenance here, as I was told by the front desk lady she was "sending her shuttle driver" to help. Note this was the same shuttle driver that was sent to move me from the disgusting, uncleaned room barely an hour ago... I guess they're short on help here?? The shuttle-driver-turned-maintenance guy identified a dead thermostat as the possible culprit and while, alas!, it ran on AAA batteries, he told me (yes, verbatim) "I'm not a technical man" and politely requested that I just spend the night in a hotel room without a functioning heater (again... it's 25 degrees outside). I'm presently in the midst of this comedy of errors and determined to ride it out. I promised the non-technical shuttle driver-turned-maintenance guy I'd help him out with AAA battery replacement if he could track some down but if that doesn't go to plan, I'm certain I could just burn this disgusting carpet as a heat source and nobody in their right mind would care. The short of all that: unless you're an out-of-work comedy writer looking for material, don't ever, EVER stay at this hotel. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
