Quiet n peaceful

Feb 23rd, 2021

We recently stayed here for our wedding anniversary/vacation. Place is easy to find. No valet, no bell service. Very small place. Easy check in. Very clean room. Did my usual room inspection, pass! Bed inspection passed too. Impressive! We enjoyed our king bed, ocean view room. Nice location. Very convenient to the Spa, just a few doors down. Took advantage of the spa and had massages. We were disappointed the Red Salt restaurant were closed. No breakfast buffet. Rude worker behind the counter left us while we were asking questions. Luckily we brought food and beverages for our room. Didn't see many employees, mostly at the front desk. Very small pool, didn't do any swimming. No beach in front of property. Beaches nearby was not great. Balconies are to close together. Zero privacy. Luckily we didn't have neighbors! Got to see a spectacular sunset! We enjoyed our stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

One Of A Kind Place

Jan 18th, 2021

This hotel is such a gem. We have stayed many times over the years, and it's really perfect. It's got everything you need, but nothing more. It's not too big or too small. Right on a beautiful beach, great pool area, in a wonderful warm, dry microclimate on the most lush island. Sweet staff, great food, comfortable, beautiful rooms, and right on the beach. Wonderful Vacation!

Dec 17th, 2020

Everyone here is so welcoming. They get to know your names and make it feel like it’s your home. Shout out to Brinee who saved me so much time making reservations for me, Mike the valet, the ladies serving coffee and breakfast in the morning, and Terri the yoga instructor. EVERYONE was wonderful. I just can’t remember all their names. Can’t wait to go back!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great location, Great service!

Dec 16th, 2020

We spent 3 nights at Koa Kea in early December, and were very impressed with the property and the service all around! Safety standards were excellent with respect to Covid protocols, largely not impacting the overall resort experience. The property has a truly intimate feel, with easy access to the excellent public beaches in front of neighboring resorts (just rocky beach immediately in front of Koa Kea). Rooms are a good size and nicely appointed, with a super comfy bed. Oceanfront rooms are truly "oceanfront" and definitely the way to go if you can. The gym was available in hour blocks for private reservation, which was a really nice option. And daily sunrise yoga was a great way to start each day (more energizing than challenging , for yoga-types). Unfortunately, we didn't get to enjoy Red Salt restaurant as it was closed the days we were there, but local friends commented its the best restaurant on the island. Only disappointments: The useless resort fee (which most Hawaiian resorts charge.. and is a pet peeve) and the $30 overnight parking charge, only because their website specifically says self-parking is complimentary. We forgave these annoyances given the island had just entered lockdown again and we we so happy with everything else, particularly the warm and generous staff! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Great Stay!

Dec 5th, 2020

My family and I stayed for five days and had a wonderful visit. The hotel is relatively quiet and peaceful, but had plenty to do. Sit by the pool, rent surfboards and paddle to the break directly in front of the hotel, golf at nearby Poipu Bay, etc. The restaurant, Red Salt, was surprisingly good for a hotel restaurant too. Rooms were nice - what you would expect for the price range. Staff was great. Overall, this isn’t a huge Hawaiian resort, but that’s not what we wanted. We were very happy with our choice and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice getaway. Never felt uncomfortable with social distancing, etc. Very well-done operation. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
