Lovely Koa Kea

Jan 13th, 2020

We recently enjoyed a week at Koa Kea. It's not a large resort which was very pleasant. We had an Ocean Front Suite which gave us plenty of room and a wonderful ocean view. The front desk was helpful in getting a room just down the hall for friends of ours. The Red Salt Restaurant had a terrific menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Kauai getaway

Jan 7th, 2020

Quaint and laid back the Koa Kea is our go to hotel when visiting Kauai. Poipou Beach is a great place to watch sea turtles and Monk seals sunning as you hike by. Red Salt restaurant at the hotel has great food and their breakfast of lobster eggs Benedict and Macadamia Nut pancakes with coconut syrup should not be missed. Across the street is a small shopping mall that has Starbucks, reasonable priced food and shopping. Finally, if you want to try surfing this is the place to learn. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Beautiful Hotel with Excelent Service

Jan 7th, 2020

We stayed at Ko'a Kea in December 2019 as we moved from another hotel in Kauai. Our room was beautiful with nice décor, modern feeling to the designs. The bathrooms are big with a nice rain shower. The bed mattresses looks new and the down comforters were some of the best we have had in a hotel. we booked partial ocean view, we had a gorgeous view of the ocean and watch surfers all days. Ko'a Kea is as close to the beach as possible in a hotel with fantastic service staff all over.. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

a Kauaian paradise- could use some improvements

Jan 7th, 2020

Second time to this property. Lots to love here (location, structure, rooms). But it was also overpriced, and service levels lacked. Big downside: our room a/c broke down 3x during our week. Food should be better. I paid far more than Four Seasons, but didn't feel I got that level of service. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

More of a motel

Jan 6th, 2020

We stayed in a garden view room over the New Years holiday and were very disappointed. The hotel itself is more of a glorified motel - very small pool with limited loungers, poor sound insulation, and very bad beds (As mentioned by other reviewers). We had very poor sleep due to sound issues and the bad bed and ultimately did not find our stay relaxing. We actually looked into moving hotels and staying at other places and eating the cost, but due to the holidays everything was way too expensive. I'll say the the location is great and convenient to beaches, shopping, and dining in Poipu- just not a relaxing place to stay. The hotel should be way cheaper given the aforementioned issues and is not a good value TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
