I LOVE this place. So much so I want to keep it my little secret. The intimate feeling at this resort is very special and hope it continues all of the great little things they do and keep it that way. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I have been to Kauai many times before, but this was the first time with my wife, for a big anniversary. Consequently, an absurd amount of time was spent researching every possible accommodation on trip advisor, air b&b and the rest.... then we checked on google maps and other photographs to see if there was actually a sandy beach by the hotel, or it was separated by rocks and barriers. We ended up with the Ko'a Kea for a bunch of reasons. First, off it was on the South side of the Island, facing West, which meant there were rooms available with a great sunset view. Secondly, it has a nice sandy beach right nearby. You may have to walk about 100-200 yards to get to a large sandy area, but then you have a nice long stretch, and this is on either side, both West and East. Thirdly, the actual rooms are gorgeous, with nice walk in showers, modern, light and air rooms, etc. Balconies large enough to enjoy a full meal out on the table, or just morning coffee. Fourth, the grounds are beautiful. There is a nice, semi-rock landscaped jacuzzi in the center of the grounds, and you can rent beach, snorkel and board equipment right on site. Fifth, it's a great location, in that you are right near some scuba schools, and there is very solid snorkeling on the beach just to the West of the hotel (again, about 150 yards away), where you can see lots of fish amongst the rocks. Sharolyn, the lifestyle director, was super attentive and courteous and folllowed up with us to make sure we had an unusually successful experience. She's funny, upbeat, and shared her time with us to make sure our time their was great. What can I say? I was a bit over the top with the search, and it completely paid off. This is a massive hit if you are looking for a gorgeous, romantic place to stay. It was so great, things like complementary yoga classes right outside on the greens, early in the morning, before it gets too warm, didn't even rate in the body of my review. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Just checked in yesterday for a six night stay. It’s been great so far. Love the size of the hotel and location. Husband, daughter and I enjoy yes the yoga on the lawn overlooking the ocean followed by a lovely breakfast. Breakfast buffet could be improved with more choices, but is still very good with lots of choice with the mains. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed there for 4 nights. The staff is great and very helpful. Rooms are good and the atmosphere is peaceful. We tried the dinner at the Red Salt, the vanilla fish was really good (don’t bother trying the desserts it’s un necessary). We’ve decided to try the breakfast one morning....big mistake! This is the worst avocado toast I’ve ever had in my life. The bread is greasy, the avocado doesn’t taste anything and the eggs were absolutely horrible. The buffet is useless and just have a look at the photos of pastries... Overall, the hotel is great but if you want a nice breakfast go to the Fish café around the corner. It’s fresh, delicious and offers a great variety of food! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at Koa Kea resort in July this year. The accomodation was very comfortable and clean, the staff were very helpful and had great local knowledge. It was really handy how we were given maps and direction cards for local attractions. Don’t miss the out on the bar, pool and a beautiful sunset on the lawn! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
