Wonderful Family Vacation
Jul 19th, 2019
We stayed at Koloa Landing 6 nights and had an incredible time. It was my wife’s and my 25th year anniversary. We brought our 17 yr and 20 yr old sons. Our goal was to have a beautiful place as our home landing and adventure all over Kauai. Fran at the front desk made this happen for us by seeing that our every need was met. Lauren the waitress at the Holoholo Grill shared some great hiking spots that only locals know. The pool was a great way to cool off and discuss the great adventure that day. The rooms are very well appointed, clean, and spacious. Great place for all families. This trip will be a memory that is irreplaceable in our family. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A Dream Vacation-

From the minute you drive up to this resort, everything is a class act. We were greeted with our car doors opened and presented with leis. We did not have to wait for check-in. The host at check-in explained a few things about the property then we were off to our room. Our studio villa was roomy with a large bathroom equipped with a washer/dryer. The pools were amazing, plenty of places to sit, if not at the main pool, there was always space at the other two pools. Something we noticed is that even though this resort is big, it is still very quiet and doesn't feel like a huge hotel/resort. The staff was always so helpful. They even offered a courtesy shuttle to the nearby shopping centers, if the bell clerks weren't busy. This was especially nice in the evening when we wanted to venture out for dinner and enjoy an adult beverage. A special thanks to Matt who shuttled us on several occasions, gave us many tips about the island, places to see and places to eat at. I also visited the spa. This was a nice treat and well worth the money. We are already planning to return and hoping to bring our adult children with us. Mahalo Koloa Landing Resort and Staff TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Great place to stay in Kaua'i!

The overall feel of the resort is that of luxury and high standards, and the staff were all very pleasant and professional. Our villa was very well appointed with a laundry and all kitchen amenities. The place looked very new, was tastefully decorated, and was spotlessly clean. The pool is great - the kids spent a lot of time there - and it's just a short walk (< 10 mins) to the shops and restaurants at both Poipu Shopping Village and Kukui'ula Village (which was particularly nice). Nearest beach is Kiahuna, about 10 minutes walk away, but it was very rough when we were there in July so we couldn't hire boards. There was a good selection of food and drinks available at the resort's Holoholo grill. We paid up-front for breakfast (US $15/day/pp) but at check-in we were told it could be used for either breakfast, lunch or dinner, which was really handy. The only minor downsides for us were that our room overlooked the back of the resort where they did the laundry, so we never used our balcony. Also, the mattress was way too soft for our liking so we never really got a very good sleep. Everything else was superb though, so we would definitely stay here again if we came to Kaua'i. 1. Three bedroom villa is gorgeous and very spacious with very nice amenities including very well stocked kitchen, dish soap and laundry detergent. They also have beautiful and comfortable outdoor seating. We had a resort view, but still had a nice view of the ocean as well. 2. The pool was fantastic and our four teenagers enjoyed it very much. We also rented a cabana two days (call in advance to reserve) The restaurant at the pool is absolutely delicious! Breakfast every morning was a huge hit with our family including the French toast and the pancakes! 3. The ocean is right by the resort, it is extremely rocky and not swimmable at this location, it is either a short drive or a long walk to the nearest beach. 4. The concierge is an Expedia concierge and was able to book our surf lessons and catamaran cruise. Just be aware that most of the time booking through Expedia is nonrefundable. The resort does not do a luau, but there are several close by to attend and they can make reservations for you, or you can go directly to the websites to book, we made the mistake of booking it the same night we arrived and our son’s flight was very late getting in so we had to cancel our reservation. 5. Unfortunately, as a platinum elite member, they were not able to upgrade our room location or have a late check out do to it being high season. However, Jessica the manager was very accommodating in letting us have a smaller studio within the resort to get ready later in the afternoon before our evening flight. 6. There is a Longs/CVS drugstore less than a mile away, the Walmart is a 30 minute drive away and there is a Safeway grocery store that is fantastic that is a 30 minute drive away as well – near the airport 7. There are two shopping centers that are very close by that have restaurants that are fantastic! Make a reservation on open table. 8. Very nice property, great location and very nice and responsive staff! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
