Let me start by saying, I want to be fair in my review. Everyone at L' Orcheedi was wonderful, kind and very accommodating. However, I was extremely disappointed with my room. It was terribly dated... to the point that the draws creaked and dragged when opened and closed (I won't upload that video). The television in my assigned room was a brick, unlike the flat screens pictured on the sight. And the one thing that really baffled me was that my bed looked like it was for a young child. Thank goodness I am very small in size. For the money I paid for my stay, it was definitely not worth it. I was extremely disappointed and bothered. As for the " inclusive breakfast", another disappointed. Who serves smoked herring with sliced bread. I would however like to thank a few people. Thanks Somoya for your kindness and helping me drag all my luggage upstairs (in your heels no less). Thanks to Mrs. Francis for your kindness and concern. Wendy in housekeeping was very kind as well in making sure I had everything I needed, but never cleaned or changed my linen, my entire 9 night stay.... not blaming Wendy. All in all, I made the best of my stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Five nights in a most pleasent and friendly boutique hotel. Small hotels like this are not common in Port of Spain.

The hotel it self is very cosy, nicely decorated, with a small terrasse with a view and resplendent with birds and butterflies. The staff is exceptionally helpful and professional; and the breakfast is super. My wife and I are rather spoilt -- and we loved the place. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
A charming spot

We were here for two nights. The setting is totally charming, the staff are delightful, and the rooms are quirky and comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance of the Savannah Park and the Botanical Gardens. The staff arranged a taxi tour of Port of Spain for us and the driver (Ignatius Perkins) took us to watch the sun set over Port of Spain and then gave us a tour of the city’s highlights, and lots of cultural information. The hotel is set in a little garden with a patio to sit outside. Breakfast is available at the hotel and the food was very good. A really nice introduction to Trinidad! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

To visitors - If you are looking for a place to stay in Port of Spain, don’t waste time with the big chain names. L’Orchidee is hands down the best hotel in Port of Spain, period. End of story. They treated us like a family member and spoilt us rotten during the five days that we stayed there. Christine, SheriyAnne, Samaya, Cheryl, Wendy and all the others - You have truly demonstrated the highest standard of hospitality. I can say for sure, that my wife and I have not experienced a stay like this before. Our time at L’Orchidee was indelible and will forever be etched in our memories. Christine - Thank you for answering all my questions about Port of Spain and Tobago for the two months prior to our visit. You have an amazing staff who truly love working for you. Samaya - Thank you for cooking the breadfruit two ways - fried as well as boiled in coconut milk, for making us hot cocoa and coffee. My wife and I always felt like we were be no doted on. SheriyAnne - Thank you for your hospitality and help via email for answering my questions. Cheryl - We really wanted to bundle you up and take you with us !!!! Thank you for feeding us the variety of vegetarian fritters. You were so sweet to make us the eggplant dishes and also to warm up my stored breadfruit dish every day. Wendy and staff - Thank you for cleaning our rooms every day. We really didn’t want to go back home. Every day made us feel more at home. All our unusual requests for food and other things were met immediately. Our deepest gratitude to everyone at L’Orchidee for making our stay comfortable and enjoyable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
Comfortable and close to Savannah Park

We stayed 5 nights. It is situated on a quiet upmarket residential road. The ground floor room was spacious, clean and comfortable and had all we needed. Our room was close to the dining room and kitchen so there was a little noise from staff starting to prepare breakfast etc but not a major problem. The breakfast was cooked to order and encouraged us to try local dishes which is good. Staff were very attentive and friendly. To call it a "hotel" is a little misleading - there is no other food on offer and no lounges or other amenities. As we were approaching carnival time it was good that it is in walking distance of Savannah Park TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
