Great Resort, just wouldn’t recommend for Kids under 10.

Apr 25th, 2020

Loved the resort for so many reasons! 1-) Location...Great! Super close to lots of things. Easy to get around and venture out! Felt SAFE. 2-) Definitely 4 star!... Super young vibe, trendy style through the entire place, romantic/sexy vibe. Not 5 star because... it just wasn’t. 3-) Variety of POOLS + Beach which is nice! Lots to choose from! 2 Hot tubs too! Pools •Open• 24 hours... which makes night swimming ideal! 4-) Casino + Night club... its on property & suuuuuper trendy if you are looking for that. We were not. So, there was that. Friday & Saturday nights are HOPPING! Security guards and tons of locals dressed to the nines! The bar inside the lobby is packed on these nights. I believe the dance club is downstairs... (you can hear the music pumping) and then people hang at the lobby bar, then head to the casino which is right in the front of the hotel. So, you mix thru the club goers weather you’d like to or not because the crowds span thru different parts of the property. Now, on nights that the club isn’t popping, it’s much quieter and relaxing. But- say you want to go night swim and the club is going have to walk thru the club goers dropping wet, wrapped with a towel, to get back to your room. ((Hotel reccomendation- Give your guests robes poolside at night to wrap up & walk back to the rooms!)) 5-) Food- Great food on property! And lots of other yummy places to try nearby! It is pricey. Especially feeding kids! There isn’t really a kids menu. Adds up SO FAST! A few more Pro’s & Cons... 1- Beach... The left side of the hotels beachfront cove is near rocks and was super WINDY our whole stay. Water was on RED our entire stay, but the weather was sunny and GORGEOUS!!! Which, with kids under 10 (not strong swimmers) it was scary! There were water rescues DAILY... for ADULTS! Not sure if this windy weather was the norm... but we definitely did not get many beach days because of the red conditions. If you love beach days... look into this before you go! 2- Pools- They are gorgeous!!! We loved that there is a kid option pool! With cute Kid Cabanas!!! It’s small- but We lived here because the ocean conditions. 3- The resort overall is hard maneuvering with little kids. Modern furniture, sharp edges, slippery tile for wet feet, not stroller friendly(stairs), food expensive for kids...not many kid menu food options... or kids recreational things to do... etc. As a Mom of multiple kids, multiple ages I would say it’s way more of a relaxing experience for Kids over 10 years old that are good swimmers! They don’t have a “kids club” or kids game or play area like other resorts. It says they are “kid-friendly” but I’m not quite sure what makes them say that other than the “shallow kid pool” & kid size pool side cabanas. Conclusion- We loved Puerto Rico, we would go back to La Concha because it’s familiar and we’d be comfortable already knowing all the above. Also- Puerto Rico is an AWESOME place to explore with families!!!! I would recommend if the La Concha Hotel is wanting to make the experience more “family friendly” ask a Mom, (( like me ;) )) what to change, and change it. There is a lot of tweaking you can do to some things to make it an easier Vacation destinations for Parents & Families while still staying hip & trendy! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Amazing Hotel. Beautiful People. Staff so great and attentive

Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful. Three words to describe Laconcha. I enjoyed my stay... every last bit of it. From the time I checked in to the time that I left I felt like I was an appreciated guests. Food received from either of the locations around the resort was todo bien. I especially loved breakfast each morning upstairs at a restraunt I believe was called The Loft. Milayka Ortiz Ruiz....WOW. I have been to hundreds of restaurants but have never had a waitress as wonderful as she was. She was so attentive and also offered great suggestions on things to do around the island. She made me feel very welcome and definitely helped me have a great start to each day. My next trip to Puerto Rico that I will definitely stay at Laconcha and I really hope she is still there with her great smile and beautiful personality. Rooms were cleaned daily and there was plenty of Night life right down the street from the resort. All said and done I highly recommend Laconcha. Amazing location. Amazing Staff, Amazing hotel....Simply amazing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Our new home away from home

Do not look any further when choosing to visit San Juan. From the second you walk in you are greeted with smiling faces from ALL staff and outstanding service. From the lobby to your room, expect exceptional cleanliness. Hang out by one of three amazing pools or take a few steps to the amazing beach and lounge out the lounge chairs while getting served! Shoutout to the bartenders Alejandro and Manuel! Super friendly, exceptional service and always greeted with smiling faces. And lets not forget about the exceptional ladies at the front desk, they were all super friendly and provided everything we needed to make our stay perfect. Unfortunately towards the end of our stay is when the infamous coronavirus had impacted the island and due to government orders they had to slowly shut everything down, but they ALWAYS did their best to accommodate us as much as they could under the difficult circumstances. With that being said, WE WILL DEFIANTLY BE BACK!!! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful Stay

Mar 17th, 2020

We had booked a Junior Suite, but was upgraded to a full suite upon arrival. We were a very late arrival, and everyone was so nice and really took pity on us, as we were barely functional, after working a half day, driving 2 1/12 hours to JFK, then just dealing with JFK, then the flight. Room was beautiful - we were in the Suite Tower, separate living room ,small kitchenette with fridge, stovetop, microwave - pots, plates and silverware. We were direct oceanfront - the waves crashing on the beach was amazing. The bed was very comfortable - the shower was a waterfall, but also had a handheld so that I could get the conditioner out. Adult only pool had with waiter service, as did all of the pools and beach. The angle of buildings mean that your time on the beach is over around 4pm (at the end of Feb). Our rate included the breakfast buffet which was fine. I would not have paid the published price for it. Overall , it was worth the price - I think the rate was competitive and being directly on the beach, as well as in walking distance of a ton of restaurants and bars. 1 drawback to the room location - being oceanfront also means we were over the Adult Pool. They had a party there on Saturday from 4 to 10 - the music was very loud - not sure how it was enjoyable down at the pool. For us, it was just kind of annoying as we were getting ready to go out - although it did make us move faster! But something to be aware of if you have kids that are going to bed before 10.
