During these covid affected times it was very enjoyable to visit this hotel where all stuff was super attentive and the quality of room service, amenities and attention to hygiene let you forget that there is still covid around for a bit. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We stayed here two nights in a Junior Suite. The hotel is very special with a wonderful history and the public areas are very atmospheric. For what it’s worth we actually concluded that this ‘Ferme’ would be better to stay at in winter when the fireplaces are lit and the dark wood decoration would be more in character. Service was actually very good albeit as others have observed it could be a little more attentive and warm. Restaurant prices are very high with starters in the main restaurant at €60+ and mains about €80. This is without a Michelin Star. Wine prices are about a 4 times mark up. We reckoned prices in the bistro were about €10 higher than they should be. The room photos (20) were a bit misleading with the website showing a bright room with beige furniture. Our furniture was grey with grey walls but we were told the furniture had all been changed because of a guest setting fire to them. Someone also mentioned flooding but I don’t know how true that is although there was a lot of noise of furniture being above us during our stay and workmen all over the place including on the roof. The shower was actually unacceptable especially given this is a R & C property. The overhead shower was only a trickle with no pressure at all; the hand shower had good pressure but went from cold to hot meaning that you were freezing or burning. We complained twice but they were unable to fix this. The spa/pool/gym wasn’t open due to renovation/Covid but the hotel apparently has reduced room prices by 30% to take account of this. Whilst the mini bar is free (very limited soft drinks and beer) there were no fruit, chocolates etc. in the room. A bit mean I thought. Relais & Chateaux used to have a loyalty programme called 5C but they dropped that a couple of years ago. However you can still be a member but it is totally unclear what benefits that brings anymore. Their programme is outshone by Leafing Hotels (LHW). Overall we liked the hotel very much but for around £1,000 per night (including wine) we expected more. It would be good to see the hotel at its best. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spent three nights and enjoyed the warm welcome, peaceful garden and delicious food. Every member of staff was professional, attentive and courteous. Thank you to Celine, Christophe and Patricia for their care. The highlight of our stay were the massages with Patricia (French champion of massage 2019). The massage experience was the cherry on top: heated bed, aromatherapy, natural ingredients and the most relaxing massage technique and pressure. I left both massages feeling zen. We can’t wait to come back! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We have been here four times. This time rather less good than past. Small room, no aircon (to be fair generally unnecessary in Normandy) and the swimming pool being refurbished (for which we got a discount). Helpful staff. Restaurant gastronomique expensive but high standard. There is also a bistrot. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
