Perfect breakfast setting on a snowy morning

Jun 15th, 2019

After visiting the historic St Francis Basilica we walked over for our first breakfast at La Fonda in their main dining room ... the decor is lovely, the service world class, and the food delicious with every dish just right ... this destination is now part of our periodic historic Santa Fe renewals TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

All around amazing!

Jun 15th, 2019

My husband and I were traveling to Santa Fe to celebrate our 28th wedding anniversary and I couldn't make up my mind where to stay downtown. We were concerned that due to some of the reviews I had read, that La Fonda would be busier with groups, weddings, and tourists roaming about, thus noisier and not as intimate as what we were looking for. Nothing could be further from the truth! We enjoy staying in historic hotels and this one did not disappoint! From the unique artwork throughout the hotel and in the rooms, everything was clean, updated, and maintained to it's historic beauty. We stayed in a traditional king room and were pleasantly surprised when we rec'd a bottle of gruet (local winery) champagne waiting for us :) We thoroughly enjoyed the restaurant (la plazuela) and bar area (la fiesta), which had local live music every night so much so, that we had dinner there twice and found the bar to be our last stop for a nightcap all of the 4 nights while there. Be sure to ask for Christina at the bar as she makes the best margaritas in town! We also enjoyed hanging by the pool/hot tub after a long day of hiking. It was nice to have so many amenities on property, yet also be within walking distance to all the shops, restaurants, galleries and museums. We will definitely be back and stay at La Fonda again! A Grand Hotel

Jun 14th, 2019

We stayed at the beautiful, historic La Fonda Hotel for 5 nights. This is truly a Grand Hotel! From the moment you walk in, you are struck by the beauty of the artwork and furnishings of the common areas, which are plentiful. Every staff member is courteous and helpful. We were celebrating an anniversary, and were upgraded to a king suite, which was so nice! The rooms are super clean and the beds are very comfortable. The furnishings are gorgeous, keeping with the Santa Fe style. There is a bar and restaurant on the premises. During the weekends, they have live music, and the band is really good! Felix, the concierge is very knowledgeable and helped us with a day trip we took to Taos. He had so much information to share and is a pleasure to speak to. The location of La Fonda is perfect. Lots of shops, galleries and restaurants are within walking distance. If you rent a car, the parking situation in Santa Fe isn't the easiest, but La Fonda provides valet parking if you'd like to use that service for a fee. I am so happy we chose La Fonda to celebrate our anniversary. It was our first time to Santa Fe, and La Fonda helped make it a very special occasion! Highly recommend! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

History and Luxury

Jun 4th, 2019

The perfect location - steps away from Santa Fe's shops & plaza and a quick stroll to the art galleries. The hotel itself is beautiful and has been decorated with wonderful art everywhere you look. We explored the different floor and hallways and found incredible pieces throughout the building. Rooms are tasteful and the beds are comfy! The restaurant has the best chile rellenos I have ever had. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

What a classic

Jun 4th, 2019

You know you have found a gem as soon as you pull up to this classic hotel. In little Santa Fe you are immediately transported to another time and way of doing things. From the lobby bar and covered courtyard dining to the hand painted glass decor throughout the hotel, it has that genuine feel. The type of pride in doing business that flows out from Felix the concierge - helping Dee the newbie make hotel reservations, to the security staff sneaking into the kitchen to get guests coffee before the shop is open. This is not a chain! This is a proper experience where the staff and charm of the building are part of the visit to Santa Fe you will never forget.. enjoy TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
