Could be better

This is a good looking property with a convenient location for both the airport and central/south Austin. We found the front desk staff not customer friendly-I asked about a possible free upgrade on our room(I’m a Choice Member) and got a quick ‘No’. The hotel was clearly not close to full so they had the rooms-I may not have had the points and seniority as a Choice Member but she could have been a little more diplomatic about it. The next day I went to the front desk to see about a hair dryer-website says they are included in the amenities but room didn’t have one. No one at the front desk so I hollered into the back area to see if I could raise up a human. No response. Eventually I hear a flush and out pops the front desk lady. I tell her what I need and she says it is in a black bag in a cubbyhole in the bathroom. I went back to the room, searched the cubbyholes to no avail. I go back to the front desk lady and tell her and she says she will ‘try and locate one’ and asks my room #. In 5 minutes or less she brings one by and I thank her and she turns and walks away without a word-at least I didn’t hear one. The only other issue I had was with the front lobby which was blaring with political messaging on the TV every time we came and went. Annoying! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I was told there would be a shuttle and breakfast at booking and I called to verify 48 and 24 upon arrival. When I arrived I was told they haven’t had a shuttle or breakfast since March. I live 50 minutes away from the hotel and just didn’t wanna drive early from my house, because I could catch the shuttle. When I arrived I found out the shuttle was out meaning I was now stuck with a room payment and an Uber - which was more than airport parking and the whole situation was more stressful. Their also wasn’t breakfast at served. This is very frustrating. I understand it’s hard times for everyone - but this shows you don’t care about your customers. I gave up my hard earned money to stay at your location because their would be an airport shuttle and free breakfast. I have actually tried to get in contact with corporate to tell them about the stay - but haven’t been successful yet. This stay was so terrible and a waste of money- I most likely will not stay at a laquinta again, especially not this location. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

There must be something better

My husband and I stayed at this hotel November 7-8, 2020 while supporting a driver at COTA. It is close enough to the track and it was clean which is the ONLY reason it gets 3 stars, clean is important! HOWEVER, so is getting a good nights sleep! ! Ha ha We were exhausted the first night, unloaded and chill for a bit when arguing erupts from somewhere, two men. LOUD arguing. To the ladies defense who work the desk, I'm not sure I would have tried to shut it down. They finally chilled for whatever reason. Then there was our bed, it was clean thankfully but it was so hard we both had to flip every hour or so and woke up with sore hips and shoulders. We aren't young but we aren't that old! He's 54 I'm 49, and neither of us overweight. Second night we folded the thick comforter in half and slept on it and it did help! BUT around 2:39 am (ya she woke us up) a woman was talking to someone, we assumed from the room next door super loud! Until 5ish am. It was super frustrating. The hotel seems to have been recently updated and it is very nice looking from the lobby and the room itself but I would not recommend this hotel at all, not sure if the walls are that thin or if we just had terrible luck! Also, if there are two coffee drinkers the coffee pot is single serve and its not like a Kureg, it has to cool for AT LEAST 10 minutes or it won't brew proper. I had to use the iron and the settings on the dial were rubbed off so I had no clue the temperature it was on...... Just say NO to La Quinta TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Very dirty hotel and many issues!

We booked one night to enjoy a late birthday trip. The hotel was 1/2 shut down due to the elevators broken in one building. We requested a top Floor room and was accommodated but we were up all night with the fire alarm battery going off. I told the front desk but the maintenance team doesn’t come until 3pm. No sleep all night from 11pm to 8am. The 5th floor hall had trash left by the elevators. I reported that to the front desk. Elevators are filthy and and look like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. Every trash bin was full and leaking dirty food and trash all over the outside of the hotel. During covid I’m scared to touch the elevator knobs. I purchased another night (tonight) Sunday 11/1 hoping we could have a better stay and nights rest. I asked the front desk to move me to another room so we didn’t have to wait for a maintenance until 3pm and they accommodated but what a hassle. Plus, I work in healthcare and didn’t want anyone in my room due to covid. We moved one room down and I went to clean the room with my disinfectant spray and found dirty crumbs and hair in the fridge. I also found dirty floors that haven’t been vacuumed with pine needles, sticker burs everywhere and super dirty. I’m in disbelief this hotel Doesn’t clean these rooms with covid. I’m planning on writing reviews to all sites unless someone contacts me to rectify this situation. I have pictures as well! Also, someone used the toilet and didn’t flush it when I came to the new room. So gross! What is going on Laquinta??? Wow! Laquinta you’ve went downhill! We used to love staying with you! I’m appalled the floors under the desk I need to work are full of dirt and who knows what else! My pup could’ve eaten the rocks oN the floor! We need to be compensated! We’ve been very loyal! Excellent Property

Great place to stay over night or for a month. I was a guest for 31 days Sept-Oct. Hotel clean, well designed, easily accessible from Airport in Austin. Stayed during COVID-19 staff all wore safety masks and observed social distancing. Hand sanitizer was provided at all times TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
