Not Covid-Safe/Friendly

Jun 30th, 2020

This was the worse place to stay. I’ve never experienced such bad service before. Due to Covid there’s no breakfast or gym, but the pool is open, which doesn’t make any sense. The staff can’t clean the rooms until after the guest check out, which is also weird, as it is the same room even after you’ve checked out. Meaning your trash doesn’t get emptied, and your towels aren’t restocked. I understand precautions being taken due to Covid-19, but if you’re going to have us, the guest, going and getting our towels everyday and emptying out trash, at least tell us where we can empty it and have nice enough staff to get towels from. I called about towels and was yelled at on the phone. It was ridiculous. I had never had such poor service. You have to get towels from angry staff members who would rather be in their phones than help you. Everyone was not wearing a mask, even though they had a sign. Worse experience. Never booking again!

May 29th, 2020

If I could give negative stars, I would. We booked La Quita for the first time ever this weekend, we've been loyal Drury Rewards members for a long time but thought we'd give it a shot. Used Expedia and admittedly traveled when Texas is just starting to reopen. We walked in to find that pools are closed, there's no housekeeping, and no breakfast. This was NOT POSTED on Expedia. I asked if we would be receiving a credit due to lack of services, answer: NO. I asked again, manager came to "explain" the situation to me. I asked if we'd receive a credit, she said no, our prices are already reduced. I responded, "but you didn't disclose this information, if you had, I wouldn't have book." Her response, "all of our guests already know, since you used a third party, they should've shared that." THIS WAS OUR FIRST TIME TRYING LA QUINTA... AND THE LAST. The managers attitude was condescending and rude. I understand this are challenging times and its difficult to find solutions, but La Quintas inability to offer good customer service, to be reasonable, it to talk to me like a guest is why I'm never going back. I walked next door to DRURY INN where, during pandemic, breakfast is in a "grab and go" format, pools are limited to a reduced number of guest using a signup sheet, and kickbacks are still happening. Few times you deviate to try something new, manager completely ruined this experience and ensured I'll never book La Quinta inn again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Dirty Sheets

Mar 18th, 2020

I stayed at this location for a total of 7 days and 6 nights because I started a new clinical trial at MD Anderson Cancer Center. For four days, hotel staff knocked on our door every morning and asked if we needed assistance. We only request fresh towels everyday and nothing else. However, on the fourth day, we wanted our room tidied. After a ten hour day at the hospital, returned to a clean room...beds made, bathroom cleaned, fresh towels and even the toiletries restocked. Hop in the shower, put on pj’s and got ready to rest. I turned back covers to discover that although the bed had been remade, the sheets had not been changed. Strains of my hair and stains from chicken noodle soup (I wasn’t feeling well, took my dinner in bed) from last night remained on the sheets. I contacted front desk only to be untruthfully told that housekeeping wasn’t allowed to clean rooms until guests had checked out. Huh? Remember, housekeeping had asked us if we needed assistance with anything everyday until today, 3/18/20 and we declined. I said, so housekeeping is allowed to clean the room, clean the bathroom, replace towels remake the beds but not FRESH sheets?! I was offered a half of an excuse, something about that’s what she was told but no genuine concern nor any offer of fresh sheets. I’m not a difficult person. I would have made the bed myself. I wouldn’t have wanted my room cleaned any more after the fourth day. I felt very disappointed, disregarded and hurt. BYOS... bring your own sheets! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not Even Close To Okay

Mar 18th, 2020

The free breakfast is not edible. I know you should not complain about free but I would have rather starve. The coffee wasn't hot. There was a funky smell throughout the hotel and in the room. The front desk doesn't greet you with a smile or a welcome. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Would stay again

Feb 26th, 2020

We enjoyed our stay here. It’s obviously an older hotel (the bathroom doors were quite interesting!), but our room was relaxing and clean. Perhaps the hallways haven’t been renovated, but they were quite dirty. Everything else about the property was quite nice. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
