Came for a dog show. I’ll give them credit for allowing dogs. The grounds were nice. The room another story. Nothing worked. Toilet didn’t flush, could not use the bathes sink as there was no water pressure. The curtains were broken, so hope you liked seeing my butt. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable. The shower was good once I fixed the handle that came off in my hand when I turned it on. Customer service was non existent along with breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Rooms were DISGUSTING. They smelled like a dog bed and an ash tray, outlets would not work, urine stains on the mattress, floor was dirty, no bed sheets on the pull out bed, no water pressure, sink was stopped up, refrigerator door sprung and would not close. Booked a 2 night stay and cancelled the second night due to the room condition. Would have cancelled the first night but the front desk clerk refused to reinstate the one night because “it was too late and my fault I didn’t check the room good at first”. Clerk also thought it was funny and very rude. While trying to resolve the issue, the clerk answered the phone in mid conversation. We only went to the room to drop off bags and were gone the rest of the day. Room was $90 a night with no pool access and no breakfast. We ended up moving across to the Country Inn to a suite room. Suite room at Country Inn ended up costing $10 more but at this point, I didn’t care what I had to pay for a clean room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
On our way to Carolina Beach

This was our half way point headed to Carolina Beach. I will mention that I was getting worried because the reviews since March were in stark contrast to reviews prior to March. However, when we checked in with our pup the desk agent was very pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and right at the elevator which I prefer with needing to take my dog out regularly. I will say that the breakfast is not currently being served due to COVID-19 concerns which I was fine with but I hoping they will bring that back in the future. Hotel does need some updates but I don’t care about that if they run a clean ship. From my experience I found the place clean. Lastly, you will want to ensure you stop for a bite to eat before checking in because there is nothing off the exit. All of the restaurants that come up as within walking distance are actually the restaurants within the Kings Dominion Theme Park which is currently closed due to COVID-19 as well. Poor Management and dirty rooms!

They sent us to the first room and it was dirty, then sent us to another room and that room was dirty. Needed to vacuum and wipe down the furniture. We had to get ice on the first floor. The phone in the room didn’t work. Holes in the walls in stairway. Trim work in hallway was lose TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This is an older La Quinta. I know they allow pets but the front lady just doesn’t obey the leash law. Her pit bull could of killed mine. Rude staff. Maids are used as managers to demean customers. Not good management. Police onsite TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
