John and Yvonne – Employees that stood out.

Dec 1st, 2019

So great. Yvonne made me feel like the only guest! Rare caring quick true professional! John actually asked me if he could sanitize the fitness equipment! This really happened! Fitness people you know this never happens! John was the ultimate professional! I didn’t expect that happy experience I had here at La Quinta. Great employees, great attitudes, great Surprise! No lie! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Nice remodeled room, but strong dog smell

Nov 28th, 2019

Stayed overnight on the way through town, and the hotel was nice enough, but the room reeked of dog. Check-in process was disorganized and required a second trip to the front desk to sign paperwork that was missed. Mattress was uncomfortable and could feel all the springs. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Large, clean room

Nov 20th, 2019

Booked last minute, everything was perfect. Check in was quick, key to room worked first time, room was very large and comfortable. Everything was clean, no stains, and I even got a poolside view room! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I usually love LQ, but....

Nov 13th, 2019

First off, the motel itself is nice, has 3 elevators to serve the 4 floors. Parking is barely adequate when the motel is full. We were there for the dog show last weekend, and as it is pet friendly, we usually use LQ's. Anyway, upon getting to our room, it took 6 tries to get one of the room keys to open the door. The other key did not work at all. We went to the dog show the next day, came back to LQ to get ready for dinner. We could NOT get into the room, no matter which key we used, the light on the door was red. We were in the back of the hotel, the trek to the front desk was long; there are no house phones on each floor to call for help. The girl at the desk reprogrammed our keys. Trekked back to our room. Could not get in. Maintenance guy was there also, he had to call for permission to change batteries in the lock, as his key master key did not work properly, either. After changing batteries, our locks worked sporadically (8 tries to get into the room). The next night, we had reservations for dinner. We could *not* get into the room at all. Time was running too short to mess around with the front desk again, so we had to meet friends dressed in our grubby, sweaty, dog show clothes. Returned to the motel, keys didn't work. Desk person gave us new keys. After about 4 tries they worked. Upon returning to the room, we wanted to shower, as next day we were also showing dogs. The towels had large black streaks on them, though they were folded in the bathroom as "clean" towels. Upon checkout the next morning, we brought the towels to the desk to show the clerk, and also to report we were still having trouble with the door. (After walking the dogs, it took 10 minutes to get back into our room that morning!) The clerk took $30 off the almost $300 bill "for our trouble" but promised that the manager would call me on Monday, and perhaps comp at least a day's fee off the bill. Manager never called. I just got the CC charges today, only the $30 off was comped. This is a safety issue...as well as it being inconvenient. We went to dinner "dirty." The towels were dirty. The pet area was out of bags (we bring our own, anyway), and there were "poops" all over. Fire ant nests were in the area, looked like poison had been put into the nests, but there were no warnings of poison posted. Manager never bothered to call. No way to call the desk from the floor. That, in itself is a serious safety issue. We stay at LQ's at least 50 nights/year, and I am a "platinum" member of WR. Very disappointed. We are staying at another LQ in Tucson this coming weekend. Hope it's better. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

stay away if you want any service

Nov 11th, 2019

Stayed in this hotel before a long flight after a week's trip to Tucson. On arrival, immediately smelled strong smell of mould in the hotel. As I'm allergic to many indoor mould species, said I wanted to see my room before paying, in order to make sure I could actually stay in it. This was greeted by a roll of eyes and a "whoo" yell. Of course, the room was in a bad shape although outwardly neat, the bathroom had a terrible mouldy smell as well as the room itself, although bathroom was the worst. We tried to get another hotel but the next one was just as bad - generally hotels in Tucson seem to be substandard, even really pricey ones. But the attitude of the "service" person was something I have never seen before in a hotel. Clearly Yvonne really doesn't care about customer service if she gets paid herself, which should have been obvious from the fact that even on arrival, she didn't bother to look up from some paperwork.
