Amazing Place to Visit

Jul 8th, 2019

We went in June of 2019 and they were getting ready to sell the hotel so some of the places at the hotel were closed so we didn't get to enjoy everything about this hotel but maybe when the new one opens we will go visit it> TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Son's wedding

Jul 2nd, 2019

Our family stayed here for my son's wedding. We celebrated New Year's Eve here and then the wedding was the next day. The staff was great. We didn't try any of the pool area because it was January. Our rooms were great and they were all suites. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

In Need of Some Major TLC

Apr 29th, 2019

Our first impression of this hotel was that it looks really nice at first glance but that the owners and employees seem to have stopped caring about it. The rooms are all huge (living room and separate bedroom, giant bathroom) and appear to have been recently renovated, but there are lots of maintenance and service issues - toilets that run or make odd noises, doors that stick, slow running elevators with improperly working door sensors, mosquito and spider infestations on the balconies in the rooms and on the terrace of the bar, no water in any of the water dispensers in the gym, the buffet running out of water and coffee at breakfast, etc. Plus, many of the onsite restaurants, as well as the gift shop, are closed. Lastly, we returned to our room at 11 pm after being at a wedding all day to find hundreds of mosquitos inside. No idea how they got into our room since we had never opened the balcony door. We're not sure if housekeeping opened it for some reason (not sure why they would since you could see the bugs swarming outside) or if the bugs just found a way inside, but either way, changing rooms at midnight was not fun - although I do appreciate that the front desk was able to find us another room at the last minute, thank goodness! All of these issues that we exeprienced made sense once my friend told me that she'd heard this hotel is being closed down in a month and will be completely gutted to make way for a brand new hotel. Clearly, they've stopped putting any money into it since it is closing so soon. It will be interesting to see what happens with this hotel once it is rennovated. It does have quite a bit going for it in theory: the views from the lake view rooms are fantastic, the lakeside restaurant is quite elegant on the inside and the food was great, and the water park is really nice. It just needs someone to fix it up and care. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Weekend back home

Apr 22nd, 2019

We arrived there late on Thursday night and a double villa which was outstanding and probably about 2000 square feet. Later on that night we unfortunately encountered a problem. A electric fire of some kind had started and we smelt smoke. We were quickly removed from the villa by two gentlemen in a very smooth and quick manner. Before I knew it he had all our luggage on his golf cart and headed to the main hotel. We got to the hotel and they put us in a room for the night so we could get some rest. The next morning they moved us to the 18th floor and gave us adjoining rooms which isn’t quite as big as the villa but very nice. Us having two suites together made it a nice comfortable experience. The front desk was very helpful and took very good care of us. Everyone we encountered was very nice. The only thing that might need a little work is the valet parking. The front of the hotel gets very crowded and there’s not a lot of room for everyone. Overall a great family getaway and would gladly stay there again. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Not worth the cost

Apr 14th, 2019

We stay the night at La Torretta hoping it would be a gateway from our busy schedule. What the website advertised. Wasn’t. As we imagine. Since we had already drove out there we had to just stay. These cottages. Aren’t what we expected. Floor coming apart. Tv didn’t work Also it advertises as a lake view. Our view was the back of a building with. A trash dumpster view. Totally not worth the cost. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
