Desk clerk and bellman

We got to the resort 2 hrs early for a wedding. Clayne with a beautiful smile let us check in to our room. Elvis the bell man-all purpose man was always helpful and pleasant. The rooms all looked out over Lake Travis. Deer all over the place. The resort has a huge playroom for children. My niece's and nephew's kids enjoyed free air hockey, arcade basketball, large bouncy maze, bouncy slides, frisbees etc. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I visited Lakeway to celebrate my birthday with some friends. We chose Lakeway as it had decent reviews and was the most economical (compared to Lake Austin and Miraval). My dissatisfaction started pretty early on (at check in), but overall I’m rating my stay a 2.5/5 as there were some things I enjoyed. Pros: - Check-in on app was quick and easy. - Staff accommodated room change (from double to king) Room was spacious, and lake view from balcony was very pretty. - The outside of the property was all well-maintained and inviting - Will, the bartender, was great! - Bellmen and front desk staff were friendly enough. - Nice views of the lake and surrounding Lakeway. And good proximity to the marina - the bellman even took us down in the golf cart. - Heated pools and jacuzzi were nice to look at and open even in Jan. Cons (Resort): - I’ve been to many resorts and have had a better welcoming at a Hampton Inn. - The room; so outdated! Carpet was dirty, mirror was chipped, wall color was different (like they painted over with wrong color). - Bathroom was small. Toilet was low, like for a child. - There was pee stains under the toilet seat - obviously they didn’t clean the toilet the right way. - Couch was dingy. - My face towels had dirty finger marks on it (picture a child’s Cheeto fingers on your white towels) - The towels weren’t folded properly or in the same way (small things matter) - Was given two shampoos and no conditioner (again, small things) - My room wasn’t turned down (cleaned) until after 5 (and after I went to the front desk) - Balcony was dirty, not even the table ro was cleaned. - Cracks in walls and baseboards. Made it look so rundown. - Rusted pools aren’t a pretty sight - The screen door was missing so I couldn’t keep the door open (and it was a beautiful and sunny 70 degrees outside) Pros (Food): - Make your own omelette Buffett was good. - Will made great drinks, but the bartender at the restaurant next door (Bryan) was laughable. - Buffett was reasonably priced for the continentals options available. Cons (Food): - They didn’t offer any turkey options at the Breakfast Buffett. When asked, I was brought deli turkey, like for a sandwich. What a shame! - We didn’t eat any other meals at the resort, besides breakfast. Pros (Spa): - Spa facility was clean and welcoming, and so were its attendants - My massage was fine. Though one one my friends was unimpressed. Cons (Spa): - On the website, AND in the email, there was a weekday special for the classic massage. When I called the lady said they weren’t offering it anymore. And that the website wasn’t updated. I didn’t make a big fuss about it, but upon checking out of the resort, I received an email with the same offer! So, the website isn’t updated and neither is the promotional emails? Get out of here! It’s the principle at this point! - Robes were worn and exhausted looking - Sandals were old and too small - I didn’t like being rushed to get up after my massage was over. So much more, but this is enough to get the picture. All in all, this is nothing more than a 3 star hotel with a few pools and a spa attached. The ladies in front didn’t greet us or tell us about anything the resort offered. I spent more time on the website looking for things to do, than they were able to tell me. While I appreciated not being upsold, this didn’t feel or sleep like a true resort. For the $1,600+ we spent for two nights, this isn’t a place I’d recommend. I expected more luxury. The condition of the rooms and overall service was evidence there is some real oversight missing. I was hoping for a relaxing Birthday but got a less-than-regular hotel visit and mediocre massage! Go somewhere else, folks! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

This lovely hotel is located 30 minutes from the center of Austin and surrounded by fun activities for the family. Very clean, staff is super friendly, and VERY kid oriented! This is a MUST STAY for sure! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

I love Lakeway! Spa, Beautiful Pool, SWIM-UP BAR, SMORES by the bonfire every night, comfy rooms, nice views of deer in the morning, several bars to get a cocktail. My husband and I love coming here annually to rejuvenate and relax at the pool, spa. They also have a separate family/children pool area so it can be a little quieter for adults on the spa side. Depending on the time you are staying, you may get an upgrade room. They do charge a daily resort fee, but the pampering and perks are so worth it for a romantic get-away. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Wonderful experience. Front desk very helpful and professional, room very clean, awesome view, room very quite, and I love that the hotel was pet friendly. Food was unacceptable, small portions for the money. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
