No frills, Economical lodging, Dog friendly

This is a dated, older motel that would benefit from updating. Although our room was non-smoking, it still had that noticable old smoke smell and showed its age. That said, it was an economical, well located spot to spend the night. The staff was pleasant and efficient. They allow dogs for a modest fee, which was what we needed. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Guess I got what what I paid for. Terrible location. The lobby and the room smelled. Breakfast was a joke. We were told to bring a tray from our room because there was no place to sit. Needless to say, we went out for breakfast. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Aging building

The building was in a lot better condition 14 years ago when we stayed there last, I feel that a hotel should be maintained so that you don't know how long it has been there. There were tarps covering areas and stuff setting at the bottom of the pool. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

We booked it for the affordability, but after one night I was willing to pay anything to get out. Our room was quite gross and my entire family felt uncomfortable at this location. The staff was wonderful, but the location and accommodations leave a lot to be desired. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Disgusting. Photos on hotel website NOT indicative of actual location!

My husband and I checked in on June 14, 2019. Seth, the front desk person, was friendly. He told us our room number and indicated that it was above the restaurant. I asked him if smells from the restaurant permeated the room. He said he was sure it would be fine. I asked again and informed him that I have severe allergies and could not be in a room with food cooking beneath us because I wouldn't be able to breathe and did not want to add a trip to the emergency room to my weekend visit. He said he would change the room, and he did. We ended up in a first floor room near the pool. Seth repeatedly informed us that we would be welcome to take our receipt right then since the IT department in it's infinite wisdom decided to do a computer upgrade on Saturday morning and he would be unable to print us a receipt when we checked out. The description of the IT department is in Seth's words, not mine. When you enter the room, there is a square of uneven flooring which is cut in a square shape with damage to the carpet. What really struck us was the condition of the bedspread. When we looked at it under the dim lamplight, it was clear that there were a lot of stains on the bedspread. Since we bring our own sheets and blankets, again due to my many allergies, we stripped the blanket and sheets off the bed. The sheets did have some tears and a few stains. When I woke up early Saturday morning, the daddy long leg spider was my companion in the bathroom. He was located in the tiny shower stall. I say tiny because I am a petite person and I was banging my elbows on the walls of the shower stall even though I was being careful with my movements for that reason. My husband was barely able to move in the stall as he is a bit over 6 feet tall. There was very minimal water pressure in the shower as well. While I was preparing to shower, another black bug came in to the bathroom as well. When we went to check out, I showed Seth the pictures of the bedspread. He said he couldn't see how housekeeping could miss that. He did ask why we didn't let him know yesterday and I explained about bringing my own sheets. He again said he didn't see how housekeeping could miss it. I don't see how they could miss it either since there was such a large stain. For something like this, I don't see how the hotel can not offer some type of discount or something. We certainly will not be returning to this location in the future. The rooms at this location are certainly no where near what is shown to be room photos on their website! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
