Still the best

Nov 15th, 2020

Despite the economic hardship of running a top-tier hospitality business during the current pandemic, Las Brisas is still clicking on all cylinders. It's reputation is intact. The service is stellar and the food is excellent. It is simply in a class of it's own and I look forward to my next trip. If you are looking for a place to totally relax and "get away from it all" look no further. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Relaxing week by the sea

Nov 14th, 2020

We loved our stay at Las Brisas! Having a private pool was amazing...being able to jump in the pool whenever we wanted was such a highlight! The beach club as well is lovely; the swim-up bar, the restaurant, the sea pool... Our time spent there was so enjoyable. We would highly recommend bringing a snorkel and mask as you can see all sorts of fish in the sea pool and even outside the beach club wall there's a small swimming area with a dock- we saw some pufferfish there and even a sea turtle! The food at both the beach club and main restaurant is decent (shrimp burger= yummy!) but worth going to because the view from both is spectacular. We also enjoyed a couple's massage at the spa and the service was great- overall would highly recommend Las Brisas to other couples looking for a relaxing time in a beautiful place TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Fantastic sunsets and great staff

Oct 26th, 2020

Las Brisas was a great surprise for us. The place has a prime location overlooking the Acapulco bay and offers magnificent sunset views from its bar (look for Leo and his amazing gins/margaritas) and restaurant. The quality of their food is very good although slightly overpriced. Their staff was welcoming and responsive. It is a great option for those seeking to escape the lockdown while keeping safe, specially if you rent a house with a private pool. Our daughter was really happy with all the fauna sightings: turkey vultures soaring up in the sky, geckos, giant red ants, a honey badger, colorful lizards and butterflies and the noisy chachalacas. They are going the extra mile to offer a clean as possible environment. Their Concha club salt water pool is great for light snorkeling or having a burger while watching pelicans and turtles near the jetty. Overall, a very pleasant stay TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Spectacular Resort with Perfect Social Distancing

Oct 17th, 2020

I have enjoyed staying at Las Brisas Acapulco since 1975 and have always felt that this is one of the most beautiful resorts in the world. We decided to visit in October during Covid to escape the shutdowns and fires in California. We discovered that Las Brisas hasn't lost her charm and has actually improved since our last visit five years ago. I would suggest opting for a private pool casita or higher category and you will not be disappointed. This is a perfect place for a romantic getaway or a gathering of friends. The food is very good and the resort is naturally socially distanced with most venues "open-air." Having a private pool at our casita also was wonderful. The 24 hour room service allowed us on some days to not even leave our room! We love fine dining and after enjoying a great dinner on our first night at Bellavista in the resort, we ventured out each night to enjoy spectacular evenings at restaurants nearby. The concierge, Eduardo Garcia, remembered us from previous visits and arranged for reservations and transportation each evening. Eduardo is fluent in English (lived in the USA for awhile) and knows the Acapulco scene well. We happily spent our week swimming in the wonderful salt water pool at the beach club "La Concha" and dining under the stars each night at a different glamourous restaurant. The protocols practiced appeared to be better than in the USA. Temperature checks were frequent and staff everywhere wore masks and face shields. There are not many places on earth with this view, perfect weather, and outdoor dining in dramatic settings. We arrived back in the States feeling like our getaway to Acapulco was just the break we needed. Acapulco--especially the Brisas and Diamante areas are very popular with the chic Mexico City set and Americans are few, which appealed to us as visitors. I much prefer Acapulco over the heavily frequented places attracting lots of American tourists like Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, and Cabo. Acapulco is the "real Mexico" to me and she did not disappoint. Las Brisas Hotel: Still a 5-Star Gem in Acapulco

Oct 15th, 2020

Fellow travel agent Tony and I along with our researcher/blogger photographer took an "investigate a destination close to home yet far away" return-to-travel trip recently and chose the iconic Las Brisas Resort high in the mountains overlooking Acapulco Bay. We were not disappointed! First there was the friendly gentleman who greeted us at the airport in an SUV and took us swiftly to the Resort (the hotel took care of that for us, on request); in twenty minutes or so we were checking in at Las Brisas. The weather was high 70s, low 80s and as usual a refreshing trade wind from the Pacific quickly eased us into vacation mode. The Resort was built in the 1950s and quickly became as did Acapulco the playground of the rich and famous. Today visitors come from throughout Mexico and are beginning to return from the US as well. We were upgraded to a Master Suite with private pool and jacuzzi at the high point of Las Brisas which is terraced into the hillside with winding roads manned by the Resort's famous pink jeeps. The Master Suite with large King bed, sliding glass doors to the pool and the incredible view keep us focused on relaxation 24/7, as did our covered patio featuring a day bed and refrigerator. An umbrella offered sun protection for the two poolside chaise lounges and there was a convenient daily resupply of fresh large outdoor towels. A big "wow" in our Suite was the step-down rock shower with a rainfall shower head; the shower could be used a tub as well. I confess to spending too long in the shower; it was a luxury. A large closet contained a five-drawer chest and standard personal safe able to hold our laptops, iPads, phones, wallets, passports and anything else of value. COVID restrictions were practiced everywhere at the Resort -- all staff wore masks and were constantly cleaning -- and we did too whenever we were near staff. Unlike at home we were not being restricted as to where we could travel within the area and this allowed us to explore highly regarded international restaurants within 5-20 minutes of the Resort -- and explore we did! When we weren't enjoying La Concha, the resort's private beach club with its own thatched roof restaurant and bar we indulged in Las Brisas room service with a full menu of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Also there was Bella Vista, the hotel's outdoor restaurant, another relaxing environment under the stars. On five evenings we investigated for our clients five local restaurants, each recommended on TripAdvisor or other sites and all within easy tax access to the Resort. The hotel had arranged for us to have a driver at our disposal and he (or one of his sons) met us each evening, took us to a restaurant and remained outside while we dined before whisking us safely home. The restaurants left us wanting to share out delight with every one of our adventurous clients. The surroundings -- some properties were in the midst of tropical forests -- were just the beginning as we soon experienced. Inspired architecture, design, food options and service were often unique to each property while some served similar items with differing preparation or presentation. At the end of our weeklong stay we agreed another week would have been just about perfect!
