Business Trip to Cambridge

Hotel is very convenient to everything in Cambridge. I selected the hotel because it is literally next door to where I was conducting business. It's pretty pricey as a result of the convenience, but the food and the rooms are nice. Beds are super comfortable. Gym is a little small but has a decent number of cardio machines. Just not much else. I'll keep coming back as long as my company doesn't object to the higher cost because you can stay at equally nice places to a better rate in the same area TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Much to be desired

We stayed overnight at Le Meridien to visit our son at school and will not be going back. When we arrived to our room, we were greeted with a used dish with food on it sitting outside our door. The sink, which is very modern and cool-looking, barely drains, and had hair in it stuck to the bowl. Most likely the cleaning staff got tired of waiting for it to drain as we did and left, allowing the hair to stay. The next morning we left our room and saw that room service from other rooms had been cleared, but the dirty plate in front of our door, from SOME OTHER GUEST THE DAY BEFORE was still sitting there. I informed the lady at the front desk who was very apologetic and said someone would get rid of it immediately. Unfortunately, 90 minutes later when I returned to my room it was still sitting there. I then carried it to the front desk myself. She said she "thought it had been taken care of"- not acceptable in a room that costs almost $300/night when you include the parking. Additionally, don't let any children use the hot water. It was scalding hot and almost 20 degrees over legal temperature. When I mentioned that, the desk offered to have someone come to our room to take a look. When I informed them that there is nothing in a guest room that regulates the temperature for sinks (it's set by the boiler or with a mixing valve per floor) they stared at me. We definitely will be staying elsewhere from now on. The housekeeping TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Excellent Venue and Hotel

I am a travel consultant and I will definitely recommend this hotel to my clients. The service was great and the staff went out of their way to accommodate us . I stayed at this hotel for my nephew ‘s wedding where it was being held ! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Top notch

Stayed for a week long conference. Room was nicely appointed, fitness center was clean and had good equipment. Conference service personnel were wonderful. Very convenience (walking distance) to both MIT and Harvard. Highly recommended. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Out to get your money and your clothes

Stayed here for a week on business to Cambridge. Multiple aspects of my stay left me disappointed: (1) Consistently unfriendly and unhelpful reception. When I booked my stay, when I checked in, and when I checked out, the people working at the front desk were aloof, distracted and not interested in hospitality. My various interactions with these unprofessional hosts were the worst part of my visit. (2) Overpriced for what you get: at $395/night, you get an unremarkable room stocked with water bottles that cost $7. If you park a car, it's $37/night in the adjacent garage and $43/night if you use valet. Despite traveling for local work, I was not offered a meaningful corporate discount. (3) Calls to room service went unanswered multiple times (4) Disorganized laundry service. After submitting an informal laundry request, room service took the clothes and then lost them for several days. After inquiring at the front desk, it was insinuated that I was responsible for the lost clothing because I had failed to fill out the proper form. My clothes had still not been found at time of check out so I politely requested a check in the amount of the lost clothing (ca. $100). The receptionist refused, claiming that the case was “still open”. They since claim to have found my lost clothes and shipped them to me “at their expense” (thank you, oh Magnanimous Meridien) but that fact remains that I have been without my clothes for several days and still have yet to receive them. Pro tip: if you need to stay in Cambridge, stay at a different hotel, one that cares about people and isn’t out for your money and clothing. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
