Hotel features historical touches like original marble columns and signs pointing guests toward the property's former judge's chambers
Some say this hotel doesn't offer great value for the price

Housed in a former federal courthouse, Le Méridien Tampa certainly sets itself apart from the other hotels vying for travelers' attention. Located in downtown Tampa, about 2 miles southwest of Ybor City, the hotel offers easy access to some of Tampa's top attractions, but past guests said the neighborhood surrounding the hotel could use a bit of a revitalization. Recent visitors were more impressed with the property's interior and loved how the hotel maintained some of the original fixtures and architectural details hallmark to the courthouse, such as the marble columns and signs denoting the judge's chambers. Travelers say the design of the rooms are a little less inspiring but still comfortable; accommodations are outfitted with contemporary furnishings and feature flat-screen TVs, minifridges and Wi-Fi access (for a fee). To enjoy more of the hotel's interesting interior, head to the restaurant, Bizou Brasserie, which serves French fare and fresh seafood dishes. According to travelers, the menu here is more creative than most hotel restaurants. And while the property occupies a landmark listed on the National Register of Historic Places, it's not stuck in the past; Le Méridien Tampa boasts a 24-hour fitness center and an outdoor pool. And because this hotel is part of the Marriott hotel family, Marriott Bonvoy members can earn and use points here.

A meticulous renovation transformed this historic, marble-lined former federal courthouse into Tampa's most talked-about boutique hotel. Originally built in 1905 – and well preserved due to its historic status – this hotel sits at the heart of downtown; the Tampa Theatre and Straz Center as well as a host of museums and restaurants are an easy walk.

Located in the arts/entertainment district, this hotel was previously a Federal courthouse. Upscale rooms vary in shape and size and were once judges' chambers, courtrooms and even holding cells.

An old courthouse converted to hotel in the center of town. The update couldn't have landed in better hands than the folks at Le Méridien.
