Basic hotel in need of upgrade

Feb 18th, 2020

We booked through Wanderlust Travel which was not a good experience as they have several hidden costs and you end up paying considerably more than what you thought. We arrived in the early afternoon and it took us just over an hour to get through the crazy Cairo traffic to the hotel. Check in took about 20 minutes and seemed unnecessarily long given that our accommodation was fully paid months before. The porter was friendly and took our bags to our room. The room and bathroom was spacious and clean. There was warm water at various times of the day with good water pressure. Basic toiletries are provided as well as tea, coffee, a small kettle and lots of complimentary bottled water as the tap water is not for consumption. The hotel has alot of potential and a good upgrade would go a long way to having a better experience. Request a room with a view of the pyramids. There is a nice gym attached to the spa, which was largely unused by visitors. It has a few treadmills, other gym equipment and a small studio attached to it. Towels and drinking water is provided. The breakfast buffet was vast with lots of cooked meals available as well as fruit, fruit salad, cereals, pancakes, a huge range of pastries, breads, etc, etc. It is possible to find something that suits your dietary needs. We also enjoyed lunch there which was good, with a dessert menu that will leave you heading to the gym soon. There are three fairly big pools outside which were well-maintained and clean. There are three ATM machines if you are needing Egyptian pounds, but the machine refused to accept our American dollars. Staff are friendly and try their best to understand requests made in English. Overall I would say this is a 3 star hotel, with potential for another star. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Really nice stay

Feb 17th, 2020

All was perfect. Some little details like door handles in the spa needs improvement but otherwise this is probably the best hotel in Giza. We had a nice room with a great pyramid views, the staff are the kindest hotel staff I ever met. There was currency change, nice food and room service, great spa. We liked all. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Don't leave money or valuables in your room (or room safe)

Feb 17th, 2020

Waited for 20 minutes to check-in. Began to think we were invisible. But my main complaint is that money was taken from the room safe during my stay AND I SEE IN TRIPADVISOR THAT OTHERS HAVE SUFFERED LIKEWISE. To make matters worse, judging by their failure to respond/react, the hotel management is either in denial about what is going on under their roof, or maybe they just don't care. AVOID! Superb views and exceptional service!

Feb 17th, 2020

We have stayed at Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa three times, and on each visit, we have been treated like royalty. Their staff are amazing and go that extra mile to make your holiday a truly memorable one. They are very professional and friendly. We look forward to going back soon! Special thanks go to Abdullah in reception, and the staff in the Latest Recipe restaurant, especially the head waiter Mahmoud Ali, and Rizk, Ahmed Ismail, Hakim, and Nahla. Undoubtedly, there are others, too many to mention! Keep up your professionalism! We shall meet again soon! Furthermore, anybody wishing to see the pyramids up close should stay at Le Meridien Pyramids Hotel & Spa which is right at the edge of the Giza Plateau. The views of the pyramids are to die for! The view!

Feb 15th, 2020

Stayed at Le Meridien Pyramids for 2 nights as part of our Egypt tour. The hotel was so close to the pyramids and the view from our room was spectacular and gave me my first wow moment of the trip ... looking straight at the pyramids. The pool was lovely and warm. Food at the breakfast buffet was fantastic and our room service meal was delicious, warm and promptly delivered. We were able to have the full buffet breakfast at 4.00 am even though it was ridiculously early due to our flight time for Luxor. The staff were helpful and welcoming. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
