on hold for 90 minutes

May 11th, 2020

Rang the number given about a refund.I am not allowed to travel and government policy is we should get a full refund whether it is a refundable room or not.Asked me to hold and was still holding 90 minutes later with no response. Gave up. They have stopped replying to my messages. Not being helpful. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Ok - not great

Mar 31st, 2020

Service was slow and check-in took an abnormally long time. Took over 30 minutes to address three people. Room was ok, average for sure. Restaurant ran out of almost half the menu and the service here was slower than a car with flat tires. Heard many good reviews but sadly, not my experience at all. Transfers were easy however, they do offer prompt services to get you to the airport. Will cost you about 12 pounds one way. Not unreasonable. The real downside to this hotel is not the rooms but the level of service. Was not busy yet they were painfully slow at every level of the business. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Midi Clean but good located

Mar 29th, 2020

We arrived in rhe late evening and had an early flight the next day. Herefor it was ok. We didnt take any breakfast. But the pizza in the night was great. The room smells like an ashtray and we found an old sock, dirty that was pushed in an hole in the room from someone before us! TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Chosen for Location and Pleasantly Surprised

Mar 29th, 2020

I have to prefix my review with the fact that this visit was made as a result of my return flight to Australia being disrupted for the second time with new arrangements requiring a 2 night hotel stay. I decided to remain close to Heathrow airport and in prior searches I had come across the Leonardo. I Googled the hotel at the airport and saw they had rooms for GBP114 ( 2 pax 2 nights) which is reasonable for hotels in the airport area. London was now locked down as a result of the Corona Virus and everybody had been advised to stay indoors except for getting essentials, so a hotel room would be my home for the next 2 days. I arrived at the hotel without a booking at about 8:45am and inquired about the GBP114 ( 2 pax 2 nights) rooms, however the receptionist advised me that they would not be available for check-in for at least an hour, which was still earlier than the regular check-in time, however, she offered me the option of an Executive Double room available immediately for GBP164 (2 pax 2 nights) which I decided to accept. The room was on the third floor but strangely numbered with a prefix of '2', having entered the lift I selected the 3rd floor and the ascent began, nearing my destination the lift made the most ominous of noises literally grinding ta a halt, this was quite unnerving but with great relief the doors opened and indeed I had arrived albeit a bit shaken at the 3rd floor. The room was a good size with a King double bed and two really comfortable easy chairs with a decent sized table, a large window provided a view overlooking the airport. Overall the room was airy and very comfortable. There was a large flat screen TV, fridge stocked with some complimentary soft drinks, bottles of water, and chocolate bars! Free WiFi , complimentary bath robes and disposable slippers was a nice touch. The bathroom was adequate with a large shower wet area, etc., and a hair dryer tucked away in the spacious open wardrobe. Cleanliness wise the room was spotless, the linen and towels perfect. Having left my previous hotel early morning to check-in at the airport I hadn't eaten. I had inquired at reception regarding the hotel bar/ restaurant and been told that in line with the lock down it was closed and all food was being provided from a table near the bar and could be ordered from the menu as room service , all meals GBP9.00, picked up when the kitchen calls your room. Breakfast was available as a package for GBP4.00 consisting croissant, juice, fruit, and a cheese and pickle sandwich. The main meals were a reasonable size, I tried the Margherita pizza, which was the best of the dishes I tried over the 2 days, it had good toppings, was tasty and had a crispy base. The Chicken Caesar salad was okay, although the dressing/ vinaigrette was very acidic, the chicken was moist but the salad only consisted of lettuce, and a few croutons, I tried two more dishes but they weren't memorable enough to review individually. I have been critical but one has to consider the circumstances, all retail, hospitality, and food outlets had to deal with a supply chain that was in turmoil with new government directives daily, so hotels were having to do the best with what was available to them. As a result I have scored to reflect this. The staff at the Leonardo were all very pleasant, friendly and accommodating, the receptionist arranged my taxi and early morning call all of which happened perfectly. Thanks to all the staff in these difficult times, as for me it was a case of third time lucky at the airport as my rescheduled flight left Heathrow on time with a direct flight home to Perth Australia. Best place to stay next to Heathrow Airport!

Mar 28th, 2020

Excellent hotel next to Heathrow. We had to stay a couple days waiting to fly home during the early part of the Covid-19 outbreak. It met all our needs: quiet, comfortable room; very close to the airport; restaurant & bar on the premises with an ample menu; responsive staff. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
