Cool renovations transform already good hotel.

Jan 12th, 2021

I’ve stayed at this property many, many times in the last decade, sometimes for weeks at a time. It’s been a while since I was last here and on my last stay, the hotel was beginning to look quite tired and frayed and was in need of a major make over. I’m pleased to note - it’s had one! And a very good one! You can still reach the hotel very easily from Heathrow T2&3 just hopping on the free local bus. The 105, 111, 278 & 285 buses from stop 19 at the Heathrow central bus station will whisk you to the hotel - completely free of charge - in less than 10 minutes. The U3 will take you back to the airport from the same stop, for the same free ride. The 423 bus connects free from T5. The staff are as friendly and welcoming as ever and due to the COVID crisis, will have you check in online ahead of your arrival. The restaurant & bar is closed, but they are still providing food service from the room service menu; you just need to collect it from the lobby. As always with Leonardo hotels, breakfast is not included in your room rate, so it is an extra cost and currently is a pre packaged bag of items. I didn’t avail. The rooms have had a dramatic make over and are now pristine, new, clean and cool renovations. However, despite the cool decor and the new furniture, desk, lighting, power points, etc, they no longer have anywhere for you to put your luggage! Quite an oversight. I ended up using the table for my case. A really basic requirement for any hotel room overlooked. Linens are spotless and comfortable and the old sagging mattresses are all gone. There’s an iron, ironing board, kettle, tea, coffee, cookies, a fridge, free excellent WIFI and a flat screen TV with many channels. The lighting is all greatly improved too. New carpets add to the improvements. The bathrooms have also been completely remade but sadly, the bath tub is now gone. No long soak for weary travelers possible now. Instead, there’s a large walk in shower. Hot water pressure is excellent. There were only 2 bath towels in the room. No hand towels or wash cloths. This might be a COVID issue as I stayed in another London Leonardo property the week before and they had the same towel limitation. There were problems with the keys to my room, which never worked despite being replaced 3 times. A member of staff had to let me into the room each time. As I was only there one night, I didn’t take their offer to change rooms after the third time I was locked out, but there’s clearly a tech issue they need to resolve. Despite the floor being empty of guests, they put me next door to the only other guest on the floor. An odd decision. Social distancing alone should have prevented that. There was some noise from room, but nothing terrible. I’m glad to see the improvements this hotel has made to bring it back up to the standard it enjoyed before. It’s really very impressive and the rates still favourable. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

3 night isolation

Jan 8th, 2021

Stayed with my wife in hotel for three nights voluntary isolation before going back to family in London. Hotel and room were nice and clean and you could see that covid precautions were being taken. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was a good size. Would go back again, hopefully next time without the current lockdown restrictions. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

No Heat in December.

Jan 4th, 2021

The hotel was nice and clean nothing was exciting about it. why I'm giving 1 star because we stay there 3 nights at end of December and the room was ice cold we had to call every 4th hour for on heat. we stay there during the covid pandemic did not leave the room at all. all we wanted to have a cozy room while we are waiting for our flight confirmation from Heathrow. Not to mention we had to call 5 to 6 times in order to them receive a call. The bathroom has no vents at all. Tiles floor was so cold We had to put a towel down so we can enter the bathroom and seating inside like was seating in an IGLOO. We have no idea how they have this many positive reviews. perhaps they all are from summer. I would not stay again here at least in winter. it was really hard with a little kid. Great location for low price

Jan 4th, 2021

My flight was cancelled and had to find accommodation at Heathrow but price was very good. Use the free bus and the journey is just 5minutes. Arrival checkin very fast and staff very friendly at reception. I got allocated airport overlooking room but no noise disturbance. Because of covid19 menu is limited and bar closed but during pandemic i understand this. Room heating was broken and i was given socket heater to use. Great place with good service for low price if you are looking for a short stay. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER

Peaceful business trip stay

Jan 2nd, 2021

I had to stay here for a few months while on a solo business trip. And with the covid, I had to wait for a late flight out of the UK. With that being said, the stay was pretty amicable. The staff was really nice. Special thanks to Michelle, Eddie, Leroy, Hassan, Orlando, Nidhi and Shawn. They always made sure that I had what I needed. They also offered me any other services that I may have required and always enquired about my stay and if they can improve my experience in any way they can. Overall, the staff were helpful and tailored my experience for me. Housekeeping came reqularly and at the time I wanted. I must say that housekeeping did a great job cleaning and replenishing the amenities. All the rooms I was given were clean, and fresh. I even was given an upgraded room based on my extended stay. Absolutely beautiful. Peaceful and quiet. The hallways always smelled of fresh lavender and lilac. Sometimes I could smell cologne of staff in the hallway which was a pleasant thing because I know that staff were patrolling and cleaning the hotel. My room had a beautiful view of Heathrow airport. I thought it was cool since I could see the planes land and take off. And what really hit the sweet spot was that the entrance is not on the main road. so leaving and returning for work doesnt make me feel hectic or rushed. Plus, there is a bus stop that takes me to and from the airport just outside. Really well placed, and the environment is calming. It is fairly at a 7/10 for me as a 4 star hotel. The only issues I have is that the fridge in the executive room could be a bit larger, and maybe the smoking area could be by the car park instead of next to the entrance because the smoking scent can be blown through the windows and I could smell a lot of tobacco. But I chose this hotel as a non smoker. Maybe the accomodation for smokers could be not at the entrance since mostly non smokers would like to come here to avoid smelling smoke. Also, I could smell weed being smoked somewhere in the hotel because the bathroom would be full of the scent of marijuana. Staff told me that some smokers smoke in their bathrooms and I could smell it because all the batroom fan ducts are connected. So if you do end up being stifled. It's best to let reception know. They will investigate and offer to move you to another room. TRIPADVISOR.COM USER
